Please check your students' names for spelling errors on the schedule and notify us as soon as possible of any errors so that we can update our files.
Please note: No changes in class allocation will be permitted.
Venues
Please check the schedule carefully for your section's venue as this does differ by day and section this year.
Parking
Some street parking is available at all venues. Please make sure you check street signage carefully for parking restrictions at both venues.
We recommend arriving with ample time to find parking as it can get busy at both venues during the audition times.
Registration
Students are to register at the registration desk in the entrance foyer. Each class will have an allocated registration time. In an effort to run a smooth day for all, we ask that students arrive at their designated registration time and not before. If you attempt to register before your designated arrival time, you will be asked to return at your specified time.
We ask that parents and teachers do not enter the warm up rooms to avoid congestion.
Selection process
Finalists are selected at the discretion of the adjudicators. No discussion will be entered into with parents or teachers. No finalists will be announced on the day, all finalists will be informed via email after the auditions have concluded.
Viewing
Parents and friends are welcome to view the auditions. Tickets per class are $10 adults and $5 students, children or concession (pensioners etc.) and can be purchased from the ticket sales desk at reception. Cash and card facilities are available.
Students participating in a section are not allowed to view an audition class in their section unless they have already completed their audition.
Teachers' Tickets
Registered teachers receive one complimentary ticket (valid for one class only). You can collect this from the ticket sales desk at reception. You can purchase tickets for $5 per class thereafter.
Attire
No skirts or warm up clothes are to be worn in class. Girls are to wear ballet tights and a leotard; boys tights or short tights and a tight t-shirt. Please ensure hair is neat and secured out of students' faces. There is no pointe work for any audition classes. Please arrive ready to participate. We ask that students only bring items needed to participate into the venue (shoes, water bottle, warm clothes for travelling to and from the venue). If a student would like to wear a mask while dancing, this is allowed.
First Aid
A first aid box will be available at the registration desk. Students with existing medical conditions or injuries participate at their own risk and must have a parent or guardian present at all times. Please inform our volunteers at check in if this applies to you.
Photography
No photographs or videos may be taken during the audition classes.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to seeing you and your students at the end of month!

Dear schools and parents,
We are still seeking three volunteers to assist us on May 25th at Australian Academy of Dance from 1:00-4:30pm. While our volunteer committee are working hard to ensure a smooth event, we cannot do it alone!
A huge thank you to the six community members who have volunteered their time so far. Your support makes our event possible.
Please email:

Dear teachers and studio owners,
We are putting a call out for volunteers to assist us on the following audition days with organising lines in the audition room and supervising warm up rooms.
As we have had so few in the community put their hand up to help in the past and we need volunteers to make the days run, we are asking in 2025 that all schools who have entered more than ten students to participate provide at least one volunteer for one of the times below.
Sunday May 18th: Gasworks Theatre
9:30am-1:00pm
1:00pm-4:30pm
Sunday May 25th: Australian Academy of Dance
9:30am-1:00pm
1:00pm-4:30pm
If you, your teachers, parents, or community members are available and willing to help out on these days, please respond to our email with the following information:
Name of volunteer
Email address
Day available
Times available
All volunteers will need to have a valid Working With Children Check.
The BTW is a not-for-profit volunteer-run organisation. Our incredible committee donate so much of their time to organise and run the event each year, but we cannot do it alone. Anyone willing to lend a hand and help make this a smooth and fun day for our dancers will be greatly appreciated!
