Congratulations Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation

Check out page 85 the Health and Wellbeing project we are proud to work with the teams at The Purple House Kidney Health Australia Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation and most importantly the Nyiyaparli members to design.

We were proud to share our Annual Report with all our members at yesterday's AGM. It can now be viewed on our website at https://www.karlka.com.au/key-documents/reports/

This document outlines the wonderful achievements of our organisation and the Nyiyaparli community throughout FY25.

Copies will be available from our Hedland and Newman offices from next week and mailed out to our key stakeholders. Of course, you can also give our offices a call for a copy too.

Grounded Impact are honoured to be supporting this journey toward Nyiyaparli driven outcomes.

Our new Nyiyaparli Health and Wellbeing Project Steering Committee met for the first time last Friday.

This Committee will guide the implementation of six recommendations of the Nyiyaparli Health and Wellbeing Project, which focused on supporting Kidney health treatment, support and prevention for Nyiyaparli people. The first priorities discussed included:

🔥Increasing access to dialysis on-Country;
🔥Supporting Nyiyaparli people travelling for treatment;
🔥Establishing partnerships with organisations such as Wirraka Maya, Purple House, the Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health, and Kidney Health Australia; and
🔥Providing culturally grounded education and support for prevention and care.

The Committee made 4 key recommendations for the Board at this first meeting, including support for the proposed partnership agreements and a proposal for the location of the Perth based accommodation and wrap around support facility.

The committee was very unified in it's commitment and clarity for making a difference to our people through this project. We look forward to meeting again soon and keeping everyone up to date.
