"Why does my child have retained reflexes?" is one of the questions I get asked most.
There's rarely one single answer. It can relate to a stressful or traumatic birth (including by caesarean), limited tummy time as a baby, delays in crawling or other gross motor milestones, or a fall or injury along the way.
None of this is about blame. Every birth and every baby is different. What matters most is what we do next, and the nervous system has a wonderful capacity to mature and adapt with the right support, at any age.
If you're noticing signs in your own child and want to chat it through, I'm always happy to help.
