Mixologists across the ocean... check out our Shanghai TAFE Queensland students participating in the Midsummer Mocktail Competition, held on 6 June at the Second Industrial University of Shanghai Higher Vocational College, China. Staff from the nearby Radisson Hotel formed part of the judging panel, and teachers were also invited to enjoy the event. Looks like an amazing afternoon was had by all!

Ahead of the 2016 WorldSkills Australia National Competition in Melbourne, the WorldSkills Queensland team were farewelled by VIPs (including three past and current Brisbane Broncos players), teachers, friends and family in a ceremony hosted by TAFE Queensland SkillsTech, Acacia Ridge.
The 100 strong team of incredibly talented apprentices, trainees and students will spend three days competiting for gold in their respective skills categories.

On Saturday 27 August 2016, 10 TAFE Queensland students from across the state competed in a cook-off to win a week’s work experience with The French Iron Chef Sakai in Japan.
After preparing three courses over three hours, Hyeonju Jeon from TAFE Queensland Brisbane was selected as one of the lucky winners.
Hyeonju Jeon took out the competition with the highest overall score of the day with her Asian inspired menu.
Joining her in Japan is Cloe Buckley from TAFE Queensland North.
A special mention also goes to fellow TAFE Queensland Brisbane finalist F***y Hoareau who was one of two runners up to receive a signed cook book from TAFE Queensland South West cookery teacher Jason Ford.
