This is Rachel's first solo art exhibition bringing together her work as a criminologist and a visual artist. The exhibition reflects on what it has meant for her to work for many years in the space of wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice in Australia, and on the impact of that work beyond traditional research outputs.

The exhibition opens on Thursday 4 June, with an opening event from 5 to 7 pm, including an artist and curator talk at 5.30 pm. Register your interest here: https://events.griffith.edu.au/event/f289ab62-2481-4826-b012-4051d2d3e9a4/summary

🎉 Celebrating Professor Andy Bennett 🎉

The Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research is delighted to celebrate Professor Andy Bennett, who has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences for 2026 — a prestigious recognition of his outstanding contributions to the social sciences over the past 30 years.

Andy’s remarkable career spans six universities across three countries (the UK, Canada, and Australia), reflecting a truly international impact on the field.

This year, he is one of only four newly elected international Fellows, and notably, the only Fellow from an Australian university — an exceptional achievement that highlights the global significance of his scholarship.

We are incredibly proud to have Andy as part of our Centre and the Griffith University community. Please join us in congratulating him on this well‑deserved honour! 👏
