Our play based programs, dedicated educators & centre bus provide exciting learning opportunities, community connections and endless opportunities to grow. be opening our doors to families and children, weather permitting, in October 2017. Today is Early Childhood Educators’ Day and we want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing people who make Kiewa Kids the special place it is.

Our educators give so much of themselves every single day the cuddles, the comfort, the encouragement, the laughter, the patience, the learning, the celebrations and all those little moments that mean SO much to our children and families.

But we don’t want to just tell them how amazing they are… we want YOU to tell them!

Our babies are loving reading stories!

There’s nothing better than seeing little faces light up as they explore books, listen to stories and share special moments with their educators.

Reading supports so much of their early development including language and communication, social and emotional skills, imagination, concentration and early literacy. It also helps build secure relationships and gives babies opportunities to explore, discover and make sense of the world around them.

Every story, smile, song and playful interaction is helping build the foundations for lifelong learning!

This afternoon our Banksias room turned up the volume for a little Aussie themed dance party!

They danced, sang and had plenty of fun as they listened to Home Among the Gum Trees and proudly sang along to Advance Australia Fair.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our love for Australia through music, movement and lots of smiles!

Today our Waratahs room had the wonderful opportunity to visit Jay and his amazing team at Albury Railway Station.

With it being Rail Safety Week we began our tour learning all about staying safe around railway platforms including why the yellow lines and blue raised dots run along the platform edge.

We then took a little trip back in time and discovered what Albury Railway Station used to look like. The children were fascinated to learn that horses once stood where cars are today, although this was definitely a tricky concept to imagine!

Before long, it was time to go behind the scenes of the railway station where we discovered so many new and exciting things about trains, railway operations and safety.

A huge thank you to Jay and his amazing team at Albury Railway Station for welcoming us, sharing your knowledge and making our visit such a fun and educational experience.

Our Waratahs children learnt so much today and had a great time.

Learning doesn’t always happen inside the classroom… sometimes it takes us all the way to the railway station
