Congratulations to the winners of the 2026 CAHS Annual Excellence Awards!

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Annual Excellence Awards recognise the outstanding people and teams whose dedication and service help ensure the care and experience of children, young people and families remain at the heart of everything we do.

Selected from a competitive field of 44 exceptional finalists, 16 staff members, volunteers and teams were honoured for their significant contributions to supporting the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families across Western Australia.

The awards celebrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, research, innovation, teamwork and service delivery, showcasing the remarkable talent, expertise and commitment that exists across CAHS.

We’re proud to have such incredible people as part of our team and congratulate all our winners and finalists on this outstanding achievement.

Happy 70th Birthday to Scarborough Rotary, the 'mother club' of the Rotary Club of Karrinyup! The Rotary Club of Scarborough was chartered in 1956, and in 1974, sponsored and helped charter the Rotary Club of Karrinyup. The two clubs share a long history of collaborative projects and joint events benefiting communities in the City of Stirling.

They've arrived! The Rotary Club of Karrinyup 2026-2027 Rotary Youth Exchange Western Australia inbound students. Maja from Norway and Léon from France flew into two different airports before meeting up on the South Perth foreshore. They hit the ground running the next day, with Youth Service team members Kath and Emma taking advantage of a perfect winter's day to schedule an introduction to the sights of Perth.

It was another busy evening at our meet-up this week as we inducted new member Emma, heard a report on the 70,000th wheelchair celebration at Wheelchairs for Kids Australia, recognised Phoebe with Associate Membership and heard a most interesting presentation on 'Generative AI in Everyday Life'.

Yesterday several past and present members of our club attended a special Celebration of Life for former member Marc. Appropriately it was held at the Hamersley Golf Club, our home for much of Marc’s membership.

Marc joined the club in November 1986 and was an active member until ill health forced his retirement in 2020. He was made a Paul Harris Fellow in 2007-2008 and for some time enjoyed being a member alongside his son Scott. The pair were both keen golfers and were known to play with our exchange students at times.

Marc will be sorely missed by those members of our club who knew him, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him.

The Rotary Club of Karrinyup and supporters recently funded much needed maintenance and renovations to get the Earbus, launched in 2017 as our 40th anniversary project, back on the road. Great to see it return to work in Kimberley!

From red dirt roads to remote communities, the Earbus is making its way through the Kimberley this week. ❤️

We're proud to be travelling across the region, supporting children's ear and hearing health and connecting with communities along the journey. If you see us parked up, we'd love for you to stop by and say hello.

It was 'Goodbye, Perth' and 'Hola Buenos Aires' this week for our 2025-2026 Rotary Youth Exchange Western Australia student, Feli from Argentina. Members of the Rotary Club of Karrinyup, together with host families and friends, gathered at Perth airport for fond farewells. Feli's family members (even abuela) were sporting moustaches as a joke when they met him, to mirror the one he grew during his year in Australia.
