Get ready for an afternoon bursting with colour, creativity and imagination as we celebrate the incredible artistic talents of our Somie Rise students!

📅 Monday 7th September
⏰ 3:30pm – 5:00pm
📍 Enter via the Admin Office

Wander through our corridors and enjoy an amazing display of student artwork, with creations showcased throughout the school. 🖼️🌈
And make sure you visit the Library, which will be transformed into our Interactive Drawing Room – where you can join in and add a little creativity of your own! ✏️🎨
Bring the family, explore the displays and help us celebrate our talented young artists.

➗✍️🐬BUSY START🐬✍️🐨

It has been a busy and exciting start to Term 3 in 3/4B!
In Reading, they have explored texts such as Little Dolphin, Sea Country and The Last Tree, making connections, identifying key ideas, and using evidence.
In Writing, they have developed descriptive sentences, stronger verbs and informative reports with facts, subheadings, diagrams and captions.
In Numeracy, they have focused on multiplication and division strategies.
A definite highlight was camp to Phillip Island, where they enjoyed adventure activities, teamwork, and awesome memories.

🐨PERSUASIVE WRITING🐨

Our 1/2A wildlife warriors have been putting their persuasive writing skills into action! 🐨🌿
As part of their persuasive writing focus, students explored the reasons why koalas are threatened and investigated possible solutions to help protect this much-loved Australian icon. They were shocked and saddened to discover just how vulnerable koalas have become, and this sparked plenty of passion and powerful ideas!
Armed with catchy phrases, strong persuasive language and important facts, students created messages encouraging others to act. From protecting habitats to making safer choices for wildlife, 1/2A students proved that even the smallest voices can make a big difference. 💚🐨
