πŸ’™ Happy Father’s Day! πŸ’™

Today we celebrate all of the wonderful dads, grandfathers, stepdads, carers and special people who play such an important role in the lives of our students.

On Friday, all four of our Woady Yaloak campuses welcomed dads and special people into our campuses for a wonderful afternoon of celebration. It was fantastic to see so many families joining us, spending time with the students and enjoying being part of our school communities.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon so special. These opportunities to bring our families and school communities together are always something we value.

From everyone at Woady Yaloak Primary School, we wish all of our dads and special people a very Happy Father’s Day! We hope you have a fantastic day surrounded by those who mean the most to you. πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸŽ‰100 Days Brighter! πŸŽ‰

Today our gorgeous Foundation students celebrated their 100th Day of School - and what a wonderful day it was!

Many of our little learners came dressed as 100-year-olds, complete with grey hair, walking sticks, glasses and cardigans. They looked absolutely adorable and brought plenty of smiles and laughter to everyone!

Over the past 100 days, our Foundation students have grown in confidence, made new friendships, embraced new challenges and developed a love of learning. We are so proud of everything they have achieved during this exciting first chapter of their school journey.

A big thank you to our amazing Foundation team for making the day so special, and to our wonderful families for helping bring the celebrations to life.

Congratulations to our fantastic Foundation students on reaching this special milestone - we can't wait to see all that you'll achieve over the next 100 days! πŸ’™πŸ’›

On Friday, our Ross Creek Grade 5/6 students had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside the incredible Ross Creek Landcare Group to help revegetate our local wetlands.

This exciting project has been made possible through a grant received last year to improve our wetland area and transform it into a vibrant outdoor learning space for our students and the wider community.

Throughout the session, our students rolled up their sleeves and planted over 360 native trees, helping to create a healthier habitat for local wildlife while laying the foundations for a rich outdoor learning environment where students can learn, explore and connect with nature.

Our commitment to environmental education continues to grow. This year, Woady Yaloak Primary School was fortunate to receive an additional grant to implement the River Detectives Program. As part of this initiative, we have established our new Eco Crew team, a group of students who will help care for our wetlands, participate in hands-on science investigations, monitor the health of our local environment, and work alongside community organisations on future environmental projects.

This project is about so much more than planting trees. It is about empowering our students to become environmental caretakers, building meaningful partnerships within our community, and creating authentic learning experiences that inspire curiosity, responsibility and a connection with the natural world.

A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers from the Ross Creek Landcare Group, our staff, and the families who generously gave their time to support this fantastic initiative. Your knowledge, enthusiasm and hard work have helped create a space for our students to enjoy.

We are excited to watch both our wetlands and our students grow in the future as this space becomes a place where learning truly extends beyond the classroom walls.

The Woady Yaloak Primary School community sends our deepest love, thoughts and support to Dani, Shaun and Indi Breen during this incredibly difficult time following the tragic loss of their precious son and brother, Cody.

Words are hard to find. This week has been heartbreaking as our students, staff and wider community come to terms with the loss of Cody, a former Snake Valley student and Campus Captain who was known for his fun-loving and cheeky spirit, and for always being a friend to those around him. Cody attended our Snake Valley Campus, and his little sister, Indi, continues to be a valued student and friend within our school community today.

Snake Valley is a close-knit community where connections and relationships run deep. Dani and Shaun both attended Snake Valley during their primary school years, and Cody's grandfather, Terry Breen, dedicated many years to the school community as both a teacher and Campus Head. The Breen and Nunn families' connections to Snake Valley span many generations, making this loss one that is felt deeply across our entire school community.

During this incredibly difficult time, we hold the Breen and Nunn families in our hearts, keeping them in our thoughts and offering our care, compassion and support. We know that many students, families and staff are grieving, and we encourage everyone to lean on one another during this difficult time.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you, Dani, Shaun and Indi, and the entire Breen and Nunn families. Please know that we are here for you and will continue to support you in any way we can.

We will always remember you, Cody, with that cheeky smile, your caring nature, and the positivity you brought to those around you πŸ’™πŸ’›
