Great to have travelled to Ballarat with Study Hub West Coast and Study King Island to catch up with other members of the Regional University Study Hubs network from across Australia.

What a week it’s been!

On Monday, we all began our journey to Ballarat to attend the National Conference for Regional, Rural and Remote Education, along with the RUSH Symposium.

There has been so much valuable information to take in, learn from and reflect on. We’re looking forward to bringing these ideas and insights back to our Hubs and sharing them with our teams and communities.

The Study Centre will be unstaffed next week 17 - 21 August while Tony and Patsy attend a Regional University Study Hub symposium.

Any issues please phone or email and we will get back to you as soon as we can. The office will be open again Monday, 24 August.

Get Ready for the Circular Head Science Gig!

It's back for its 20th year and it's shaping up to be another fantastic night of free, family-friendly fun!

📅 Monday 17 August
🕟 4.30pm to 8pm
📍 Circular Head Community and Recreation Centre, 72 Nelson Street, Smithton

Come along and explore hands-on activities from local educators, businesses and industry, meet the Young Tassie Scientists, discover the work of Hydro Tasmania, Cape Grim Baseline Station, HIPPY Smithton and many more.

You can also:
🔬 Check out the amazing local school science competition entries.
🏆 Put your problem-solving skills to the test in the popular MacGyver Challenge.
🍔 Grab dinner from the canteen while you're there.

🧭 The Science Trail is now live! Download your Science Trail form from Council's website or pick one up from the Smithton Library or Council Office. Then head into the Smithton CBD to see if you can find all 20 science clues hidden in business windows.

Complete the trail before the Gig for your chance to win, with winners announced on the night!
