The staff at Blakeview are delighted to welcome back all students on Tuesday, 27th at 8:50am. We extend a warm welcome to new families and look forward to reconnecting with our existing families.

A few highlights from our Year 6 students’ final week at Blakeview Primary: They enjoyed a fun picnic, exciting H2O games, shirt signing, a heartfelt farewell assembly, and, of course, their special graduation celebration.

We wish all our graduating students the very best as they embark on their next chapter! 🎉🎓

One of our fun traditions at Blakeview Primary School is the
𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Each year in Term 4, all classes are invited to decorate their classroom doors. There is one criteria: that students are involved in designing, making and decorating the door.

Last week, two Behind the News (BTN) reporters Jack and Wren come and spoke to 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐬 𝟗 & 𝟏𝟎 about working at ABC and as a BTN reporter. Students had written insightful questions to ask Jack and Wren about being a news reporter. Students loved having them in our class as we watch them on the screen every week when we watch BTN.

On Wednesday of week 7 (26th November) the 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 went to the Variety SA 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲. Students had the opportunity to get their faces painted and temporary tattoos. There were also balloon artists, as well as police cars and a firetruck to visit. The day culminated in a special visitor wearing a red hat.

In Term 3, when we held our Enterprise Day, 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐬 𝟏, 𝟐, 𝟕, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟖 hosted a Glow Disco and raised funds for the Animal Welfare League SA.

During our Week 5 JP Assembly we were lucky enough to have a representative from the AWL to accept our cheque of $160, give us a certificate for our efforts and share with us how our donation will be used.

Learning in 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝟐𝟒:

On Halloween, we had a "bone bridge" challenge, building strong bridges out of pop sticks and other crafty items. We also tested some special water and tear resistant paper while researching how paper was made. 🩻🦴🎃💧📃

Our class have made amazing models of food for our Christmas door - A Christmas feast theme. We also decorated some Christmas biscuits in our final kitchen session.
