Happy 21st Birthday Jessica.
Bujutsu was created so that my family and other families would have a safe place to train martial arts.
Jessica has contributed so much to our dojo. Jessica started her martial arts journey when she was just 2 years old.

Rest in Peace — Lily Hooper
Lily walked into our dojo two years ago with a desire to train in Muay Thai and BJJ.
She was a talented and tough martial artist, but despite that toughness, Lily was such a lovely person. She was one of those people who everyone simply liked.
She earned the respect, trust and friendship of everyone who had the privilege of training alongside her.
As a martial arts teacher, people walk into and out of our lives every day for many different reasons. Some leave a positive impact on us and on our dojo, and we wish they could have stayed longer. Lily was one of those people.
She had a positive impact on everyone around her, and sadly, she didn't stay nearly long enough.
Recently, I had a few conversations with Lily about how she saw her future unfolding. She was very positive about what lay ahead and spoke about her plans to travel and experience more of what life had to offer.
Lily was only months away from receiving her Blue Belt in BJJ.
Although Lily was only months away from receiving her BJJ Blue Belt, her greatest achievement wasn't going to be the belt around her waist. It was the person she had become along the way—the friendships she had formed, the respect she had earned and the impact she had on the people around her.
I will really miss her smile, her conversations and the moments we shared on the mat.
Lily, thank you for being part of our Bujutsu family. You will be missed by so many.
My thoughts are with Lily's family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. I hope they can take some comfort in knowing just how many lives Lily touched during her time with us.
Rest in Peace, Lily. 🥋❤️
