SMOKING CEREMONY- TODAY
Skye Primary School warmly invites our families and community members to join us for a Smoking Ceremony to acknowledge National Sorry Day and the beginning of National Reconciliation Week.
This special event will be held on Tuesday 26 May, beginning at 9:15am on the Top Basketball Court (outside the gym).
A Smoking Ceremony is an important Aboriginal cultural practice used to cleanse and welcome people onto Country. The smoke from native plants is believed to have healing properties and is used as a way of showing respect, promoting connection and acknowledging culture, community and reconciliation.
We look forward to coming together as a school community to reflect, learn and show our respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.
The Coffee Van will also be onsite from 8am

It’s been a busy week at Skye PS! Our Cross Country Crew headed off to DISTRICT on Tuesday and absolutely smashed it! Aside from the personal wins and placings, our runners showed grit, determination, persistence and incredible enthusiasm and sportsmanship in all aspects of the day! Well done crew! 🏃🏽🏃🏽♀️🏃🏾♂️
