Uni SC Speakers Toastmasters

UniSC Speakers began 2024 with a Zoom meeting, as we no longer have a room at the University. We are searching for a new venue near the University.
As VPE, I have just had the pleasure of marking off our first Level 1 for the new year. Well done Shirley! It is challenging to speak on Zoom - you overcame the challenge and gave a great presentation of interest to us all.
When we meet face to face, I have 3 completion certificates for our President to hand to members.

Happy New Year everyone!!! may it be a peaceful year in which everyone is able to achieve their dreams and goals.

Great to be able to mark off Dave's first Pathway project last night - Level 1 in Presentation Mastery!! Look forward to some more people working on speeches during our break so we can hit the ground running in 2024! Well done Dave! You will have to wait for next year to get your certificate.

Looking forward to breakfast in the park this morning! A great chance to gather and chat informally before all the busy times before Christmas are upon us. Stay tuned for some photos!

A great meeting last night with 3 speakers, and 2 members gaining certificates for completing level 2 in their paths. It was great to welcome Tom and Jack back after their study is completed for the year. This was our last meeting for the year at the University.
We are looking forward to a Christmas Breakfast at our local park next Saturday morning!

Looking forward to our meeting this Wednesday with 3 speakers. Priyanga is repeating the speech he gave at our A22 Conference so club members who weren't able to attend the conference can hear it. Brian and Dave are also speaking.
We welcome our two new members, Elijah and Shirley.

Today was the Area 22 Conference at the Maroochydore Masonic Centre. Sarah Lawson, the Area Director had a very successful conference which was enjoyed by all who attended.

Contest #1 was the Evaluation Contest. Contestants: Marietta Wetzig (Humour'Us), Diana Davidson (Inside Edge), Hilary Saxton (Caloundra).
Places: Hilary - First Place; Diana- Second Place; Marietta-Third Place

Contest #2 was Table Topics. Jenny represented us.
Contestants were: Hilary Saxton (Caloundra), Jenny Duckworth (UniSc Speakers), Bec Gutsche (Inside Edge) & Lorraine Lehmann (Humour'Us)
Places: Lorraine- First Place, Hilary- Second Place & Jenny - Third Place.
Topic: "How important is having a spark?"

Contest #3 was International Contest. We were very proud of Priyanga who represented our club!
Contestants were: Hilary Saxton (Caloundra), Uni SC Speakers (Priyanga Premarathne), Ruth Kingsbury (Inside Edge), Adrian Pavone (Humour'Us) & Simon Zipperlen (Caloundra)
Places: Ruth -first place, Simon - Second Place & Adrian - Third place.

Contest #4 was the Humorous Contest.
Contestants were: Adrian Pavone (Humor' Us) & Hilary Saxton (Caloundra) kept us laughing for their entire speeches.
Hilary achieved First place, and Adrian was second.

I am unhappy to report we have to cancel tonight's meeting. Elloise is sick, Brian is also sick - and so is our car - it's at the Dealers being fixed!! There will be no meeting tonight. I will send everyone an email.
