Yr 10 MOCK INTERVIEWS. 3 DAYS. COUNTLESS OPPORTUNITIES!

What an incredible three days at Singleton High School!

Our Year 10 students stepped outside their comfort zones and into the interview hot seat for our annual Roundtable Mock Interviews, completing an impressive 90+ interviews with local business and community representatives.

From presenting rรฉsumรฉs to answering interview questions, students had the opportunity to showcase their strengths, build confidence and develop valuable skills for their future.

More importantly, they made real connections with local employers, explored career pathways and gained firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed in the workforce.

A huge thank you to our incredible business and community partners! Your generosity, encouragement and willingness to share your time and expertise have made a genuine difference to our students.

We sincerely thank: Accionia | Be Human HR | Blooms the Chemist | Bright Start Supports | Educational Pathway Program | Hype Dance HV | Little Treasures Childcare | Morgan Engineering | Muswellbrook Shire Council | NSW Department of Education | Posture Assist Footrest | Our Care | Singleton Council | Singleton Family Service | Singleton Mazda | Sky Rocket Supports | The Bloomfield Group | Thiess | Witmore Enterprises | Youth Express

A special thank you to our dedicated staff and Yr 9 student volunteers who helped bring this event together.

And to our Year 10 students โ€” congratulations! The confidence, preparation and professionalism you demonstrated were wonderful to see. The positive feedback from our interview panels was a testament to your efforts. These are more than just practice interviews. They are opportunities to build confidence, discover possibilities and take the first steps towards future careers.

Thank you, Singleton community, for investing in our young people and helping them prepare for life beyond school!

๐ŸŽ‚ Year 9 cakes shine at the Singleton Show!
This term, our Year 9 Food Technology students have been studying Food for Special Occasions. As part of the unit, they researched ideas, developed a design, planned their production and made a special occasion cake. Entering their cakes in the Singleton Show gave them an opportunity to present their work to a real audience and receive feedback from the judges.
The students worked hard to bring their designs to life. Along the way, they developed skills in applying and piping buttercream, working with fondant and creating chocolate decorations. They also had to manage their time, solve problems and make decisions when putting their designs into practice. The judges were once again impressed by the overall quality of their work.
Congratulations to every student who entered, and to our award recipients:
๐Ÿฅ‡ First place: Allira B and Savannah C with their Gender Reveal cake
๐Ÿฅˆ Second place: Cooper R, Cruz M and Cruz Mapp with their Fairy Garden cake
๐Ÿฅ‰ Third place: Peyton T, Stella S and Ruby C with their Koala cake
๐ŸŒŸ Highly commended: Roy D and Caleb K with their Polar Paradise cake and Lucy C and Indi H with their Baby Shower cake

The cakes will be on display at the Singleton Show this weekend. Come down and see the studentsโ€™ hard work and creativity for yourselves! ๐ŸŽ‰

YEAR 11 END OF YEAR EXCURSION

Today, our Year 11 students swapped the classroom for the bright lights, big rides and harbour views of Luna Park Sydney for their end-of-year celebration excursion!

There was no shortage of action throughout the day! Students took on the twists and turns of the Boomerang, braved the legendary Wild Mouse, soared high on Volare, and settled a few scores behind the wheel of the Dodgem Cars.

And then there were the select few who decided those rides simply werenโ€™t enoughโ€ฆThey braved the wait and took on the Sledgehammer.

A great day out and a well-earned opportunity for our Year 11 students to celebrate the friendships, experiences and achievements of the year.

Thanks to our students for representing Singleton High School so positively throughout the day, and to the staff who accompanied them and helped make the excursion possible.

๐Ÿ“ธ Check out some of the highlights from the day!

Year 11 Biology Heart Dissection

Year 11 Biology students got hands-on to finish off their Module 2 Organisation of Living Things topic with the heart dissection, exploring the structures that keep blood moving around the body. From chambers and valves to blood vessels, students put their knowledge into practice and discovered that sometimes the best way to learn Biology is to get your hands dirty! The students did a wonderful job of the dissection and displayed excellent ability to apply their Working Scientifically skills. Well done Year 11 !
