✔️: How cyberbullying is evolving
✔️: Signs your child may be experiencing or engaging in cyberbullying
✔️: Ways to build protective factors at home
✔️: Practical strategies to help your child respond, report and stay safe online

📚✨ BOOK FAIR IS COMING! ✨📚

We are so excited to announce that our Book Fair is running from Monday, 17th August until Monday, 31st August!

Our Book Fair will be set up in the school foyer, and we’d love for our students, families, parents, carers and members of our community to come along and have a browse! There are some fantastic books and goodies to choose from, so make sure you pop in, have a browse and find your next great read! There are plenty of great reads available for just $5, so it’s a great opportunity to grab a new book without breaking the bank! And, of course, our classroom teachers couldn’t resist having a bit of fun trying out the animal boxing pens!

Our Student Leaders have been working incredibly hard on a special project focused on promoting inclusion and the overall health and wellbeing of our school community.

As part of the Student Leaders Congress held at Deakin University on 6 March, our leaders explored ways to make a positive difference at school. They recognised that a large part of every student's day revolves around play and social connection, so they set out to create more opportunities for imaginative and inclusive play.

Working alongside the wonderful volunteers from the Simpson Men's Shed our student leaders helped design and build two fantastic mud kitchens for our sandpit area.

Thursday was a very exciting milestone as the Men's Shed delivered the completed mud kitchens to our school! Once the weather improves, our students will have the opportunity to paint and personalise them, making them a truly unique addition to our playground.

A huge thank you to the Men’s Shed for supporting this project and helping bring our students' vision to life.

Well done to our Student Leaders on an outstanding project. It has been wonderful to watch your ideas become a reality, and we can't wait to see our students enjoying these new play spaces for years to come!

Welcome back Simpson Playgroup. We look forward to joining you for some great early learning activities.

**First Nations Leadership Program**

Our involvement in the First Nations Leadership Program takes place over 4 days at Deakin University, with our First Nations Leader, Matilda, participating alongside students from across the region, supported by Miss H. Led by local Koorie Engagement Support Officers, students celebrated culture through traditional dance, cooking, storytelling and language activities, while also exploring connections to family, community and identity.

A highlight of the program was working with Bayley Mifsud from Merindah Gunya to collaboratively design a special program t-shirt. The artwork represents schools coming together in unity to celebrate and honour culture. Building on this work, Bayley will also be working with our students to co-develop a unique design for Simpson Primary School, helping students share their stories, connections and sense of belonging through art.

The program provides valuable opportunities for students to connect with culture, strengthen their sense of identity, develop leadership skills and build relationships with other First Nations students from across the region. We are proud of the way Matilda represented our school and embraced this opportunity.
