🍂 **Teamwork in Action!** 🍂

Our children had a wonderful time caring for our outdoor environment today! After noticing the fallen leaves beneath the tree, they grabbed the rakes and got busy working together to gather them into piles. 🍁

This simple experience encouraged **teamwork, cooperation, responsibility and gross motor skills**, as the children shared the space, helped one another and worked towards a common goal.

We love seeing our little learners take pride in caring for their environment — and discovering that even cleaning up can be fun when we work together! 🌿💛

**❤️ Little Hands, Big Hearts ❤️**

One of the many things we love about our multi-age learning environment is watching the beautiful relationships that naturally develop between our children.

This week, one of our older children proudly took one of our nursery children by the hand to visit our chooks. It was a simple moment, but one filled with kindness, patience and genuine care. Our older friend carefully guided the younger child, making sure they felt safe and included while sharing the excitement of seeing the chickens together.

These experiences are incredibly valuable. Having children of different ages learn and play alongside one another provides opportunities that can't always be taught through planned experiences alone. Our younger children gain confidence, security and wonderful role models, while our older children develop empathy, leadership, responsibility and nurturing skills as they learn to care for others.

These everyday interactions help build a strong sense of belonging and community, where children learn that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. They begin to understand the importance of kindness, patience and helping others—skills that will stay with them throughout their lives.

At Knight Street Multi-Age Learning, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through these authentic relationships. Moments like these beautifully reflect the values of our service and support the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework by fostering children's identity, wellbeing, confidence, communication and connection with others.

We're so proud of the caring, compassionate little people growing in our community. 💚🐔👫

🦷✨ Healthy Smiles at Kinder! ✨🦷

Today our Kinder children had a very special visitor who taught us all about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy and strong!
The children loved taking turns brushing the giant dinosaur's teeth, learning the correct brushing technique, and discovering how the foods we eat can help keep our smiles bright and healthy. We also explored the idea of "eating a rainbow" by matching colourful fruits and vegetables to our rainbow display and talking about how healthy foods help our bodies and teeth.
A big thank you to our wonderful visitor for making learning about oral health so much fun and engaging. It was fantastic to see the children's enthusiasm, confidence and willingness to participate throughout the session.
We're sure there will be lots of extra tooth brushing happening at home tonight! 😁🪥🌈
