🎨 Last night's opening of the Year 10 and 11 Art Exhibition "Framing Grace" was a wonderful success, and provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent that exists within our College.

Our Art teachers and students did an amazing job creating the works and putting the exhibition together, with help from Tank from Tank's Art Gallery. 👏

The exhibition is still open to the public until Thursday 18 June, so don't miss the opportunity to stop by and enjoy the creations!

Yesterday, 10 June, the VET Sport, Aquatics & Recreation Year 2 class tested their skills as part of their current unit of competency requirements, on the simulators at Big Swing Golf! 🏌

⛳ Students took a swing at golf and trialled a range of multi sports, with 'Zombie Dodgeball' being a favourite.

The class sends their thanks to Big Swing Golf Shepparton for accommodating them and providing some great tips and tricks on improving their golf swing. 🤝

Social Media and Digital Reputation 📲

Social media has become such an integral part of a teenager’s life. However, many miss out on some critical social skills with most communicating whilst looking at a screen instead of another person! Statistics show that 60 per cent of 10-11 year olds are using at least one social media site, with the majority using age-restricted platforms.

What kids do, post and say online is permanent and most are not mature enough to manage their own digital footprint. Friendships, relationships and even future job prospects are all put at risk.

Parents need to be aware of what picture their children are painting of themselves online. Unfortunately, many parents do not see the dangers inherent of these sites, as they form opinions based on their own experience. But predators are usually not interested in grooming adults. ❌

Over the years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of primary schoolers owning mobile phones, highlighting the importance to teach kids about the dangers of social media and the implications it can have.

In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will learn how to talk to their children about the inherent dangers of social media and how to educate their kids to be responsible users in the online world we live in. 👥

We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV.

If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact your child’s Head of House, Year 9 Director / Head of Community or Wellbeing Support Service for further information or seek medical or professional help.

🧦 MACKILLOP / MCGANN FUNDRAISER: "Different Together" 💛🧡

On Thursday 4 June, our school community celebrated "Different Together" by wearing different or mismatched socks instead of school socks.

This act aimed to support inclusion of differently abled people, fostering a more supportive environment that celebrates the unique qualities of each person.

Students who participated brought in a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to the All-Abilities Basketball Association. 🏀

This small act carries a powerful message — We are all made in the likeness and image of God and we don’t all have to be the same to belong.

In sport, in the classroom, and in everyday life, everyone brings something unique:
- Different abilities
- Different ways of thinking
- Different strengths
And it’s these differences that make our school stronger. ✨

📅 Flexible Careers Appointments for Working Parents

We understand that balancing work and family commitments can make it difficult to attend appointments during the school day.

To support our families, the Careers Team is pleased to offer appointments both before and after school each and every week, making it easier for working parents to connect with us at a time that suits them.

These appointments are a valuable opportunity to:

🔹Discuss post-school pathways (University, TAFE, Apprenticeships & Employment)
🔹Gain clarity around subject selection and future options
🔹Explore VTAC, Early Entry, Scholarships and more
🔹Ask questions and feel confident supporting your child’s next steps

We strongly encourage parents and students to attend together, as these conversations are most impactful when shared.
