On Friday the 11th of August Inspira Kids Early Learning Centres Shepparton held a special ceremony for the celebration of their newly displayed flags in the foyer of their service. The flags are intentionally hung in the window at the front of the building insight for the whole community to see symbolising the service as a culturally safe environment for all children and their families.
The ceremony was planned to highlight the importance of belonging to country and the national identity among our families and community. Inspira Kids Shepparton is actively involved in the development of a reconciliation action plan (RAP) and having the three flags of country in the service provides a visual statement to the commitment they have.
Local MP Sam Birrell was welcomed into the centre as a thank you for sourcing the flags and providing them with the materials to make such an impact. Inspira Kids Shepparton were privileged to have Rochelle join them on the day to conduct a traditional Smoking Ceremony for all in attendance.
