🔴⚫️AFLW Essendon Visit 🔴⚫️

Today we were thrilled to welcome players from Essendon AFLW to our school for an exciting session with our junior students!

Our aspiring footy stars had the chance to take part in a Q&A and Kick-to-Kick, and they certainly made the most of it. There were some fantastic questions asked, including:
➡️ What’s your daily routine?➡️ How long have you been playing AFLW?➡️ What’s your player number?

The players were incredibly generous with their time, sharing their experiences, giving encouragement, and inspiring the next generation of footballers.

Students then headed outside for a fun kick-to-kick session, where everyone got involved and enjoyed being active alongside elite athletes. Best of all, the rain stayed away and allowed us to make the most of the experience!

A big thank you to Essendon AFLW for visiting and creating such a memorable day for our students. We loved having you at our school!

🎨 Learning the Language of Art🎨

Our students have been developing and refining a wonderful range of artistic techniques and skills throughout the term by exploring line, pattern, colour, texture, layering and blending.

🖍️ Foundation students explored the power of line and pattern, creating expressive jungle animals and detailed jungle scenes.

🌿Years 1–2 used line, shape and pattern to create vibrant Henri Rousseau-inspired jungle artworks.

🎨 Years 3–4 focused on layering and blending pastels to create incredible sloth close ups and rich tropical backgrounds for their toucan and green tree frog artworks.

🦉Years 5–6 demonstrated impressive artistic technique, using layering, blending and texture to bring animal fur, feathers and scales to life in their stunning One Animal – Four Views artworks.

From line to layering and blending, our students continue to grow as creative and confident artists.

❤️ Feast of the Sacred Heart – A Celebration of Compassion ❤️

Today our school community came together to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart, a special day centred on compassion, generosity, and service to others.

We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful food donations contributed by students and families across the school in support of the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Your generosity will help make a meaningful difference to those in need within our community.

Our F-2 students gathered in the school hall for a beautiful liturgy, while students in Years 4–6 joined with St Luke’s Parish to celebrate Mass with our parishioners.

We extend our sincere thanks to Fr John Paul for leading this special Mass and for acknowledging our students' generous efforts in donating food, as well as their enthusiastic singing and participation throughout the celebration.

We are proud of the way our students have embraced the values of the Sacred Heart through their acts of kindness, compassion, and service to others.

Today our Year 3 students had a fantastic day at Billabong Ranch! They enjoyed a range of exciting activities including camel riding, bungee trampolining, paddle boating, low ropes, and much more.

Everyone had a wonderful time exploring, challenging themselves, and making great memories with their classmates.

The bus is now on its way home and is expected to arrive back at school at approximately 4:25pm.

We look forward to hearing all about their adventures!

NOTRE DAME RECONCILIATION ASSEMBLY CHOIR PERFORMANCE

Recently, our talented choir students from St Brendan’s were invited to take part in Notre Dame College’s Reconciliation Assembly. They performed a special Yorta Yorta version of “I Am, You Are, We Are Australian,” showcasing their dedication and respect for culture.

The students spent their lunch times rehearsing and preparing for this important opportunity, demonstrating great commitment and teamwork.

On the day, their performance was filled with joy, pride, and hope, and was warmly received by an audience of more than 2,000 people. They were rewarded with a wonderful round of applause!

This was a fantastic experience for our students, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school. A big thank you to each and every choir member for their hard work and for being such positive ambassadors for St Brendan’s.

🔥 🕊️Pentecost & Reconciliation Youth Mass 🕊️🔥

What a beautiful and spirit-filled celebration we shared tonight at the 6pm Youth Mass at St Brendan’s Church. 🙏🕊️

It was wonderful to see so many of our students actively participating throughout the Mass through singing, reading, prayers of the faithful, procession roles and special reflections. Their reverence, confidence and joyful involvement truly brought the spirit of Pentecost alive within our parish community.

A special thank you to all families, staff, parish members and volunteers who supported this meaningful celebration, helping to strengthen the close connection between our parish, school and wider community during Reconciliation Week.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our hearts with peace, courage, reconciliation and love. ❤️💛🖤
