Shenton College Shenton College is located 8km west of the Perth CBD. Issues involving any of the students or staff must not be raised on the page.

Shenton College students are not only academically able – they’re strong team members, they care for others, and they want to give back to the world. Far from an institution of routine testing and grades, we’ve created an environment where students obtain real-world knowledge and understanding, and develop the emotional and social intelligence needed not only to become active life participants, but also to be remarkable leaders. Throughout the last week of Term 3, 80 Year 9 students embarked on an unforgettable Canberra and Sydney Tour, exploring some of Australia’s most iconic landmarks and institutions. From Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial, to the Sydney Opera House and Taronga Zoo, students embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and pride. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Shenton College throughout the tour and know some amazing memories were made.

Shenton College’s inaugural Adventure Camp was a five-day outdoor experience for Year 10 and 11 students, packed with camping, hiking, snorkelling, surfing, caving, abseiling, fishing and high ropes. More than just trying new activities, the camp gave students the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, strengthen friendships and support one another. Students returned with new experiences, great memories and a greater belief in what they could achieve.

Science week: Kanyana Wildlife
Thank you to Julie, Trevor, and their animal ambassadors from Kanyana Wildlife for joining us for Science week. Students learned about native animal conservation and care, and met two possums, a bobtail and carpet snake! Learning more about how to look after these important species, we hope that students were inspired to consider careers or volunteer in conservation.

Science week: Guest speakers Girls + In Engineering UWA
A big thank you to the Girls+ in Engineering team from UWA Engineering and STEM for visiting today and running engaging workshops with students from our STEM groups. Students were challenged to survive after being stranded on an island. They worked together to determine how to light a fire using limited materials, construct shelter, source food and generate power.
Creativity, teamwork and strategic problem-solving were the order of the day—and our students are well on their way to becoming successful engineers!
Thank you also to alumnus Darcy Boyd, who spoke about the medicine selection process in Western Australia and shared his experiences at Curtin University. His practical advice about succeeding in ATAR and navigating the journey beyond school was reassuring and valuable for our students. We are incredibly proud of this former Shenton College student and look forward to seeing him develop into a thoughtful and conscientious doctor.
