📖🦋Year 6 & Kindy Buddies - Colouring and Reading🦋📖

Continuing the fun from our insect hotels and Play-Doh bugs, our Year 6 and Kindergarten buddies also enjoyed colouring and reading together on the last day of Term 3! 🐞🦋

From bringing colourful insect pictures to life to sharing stories, these activities gave our buddies time to chat, create and strengthen their friendships. Our Year 6 students took pride in helping their little buddies, making it a special morning for everyone. 💙❤️

🐞 More bug fun with our Year 6 and Kindy buddies!

As promised, here’s another look at the special morning inspired by Addy’s insect hotel project. Our buddies used Play-Doh to create their own colourful bugs, then drew pictures of their creations! 🐛🎨

It was lovely to see our Year 6 students helping their Kindergarten buddies share ideas and get creative together. Keep an eye out for more photos from the morning! 💚

🏉🔥 THE SHOWDOWN WE’D ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! - STAFF VS SENIOR BOYS OZTAG🔥🏉

We’d been looking forward to it all term, and on the last day of Term 3, our teachers and senior boys finally faced off in an Oztag showdown! The teachers were ready to rumble, but the boys weren’t going to make it easy. 💪

What a battle of a game! We saw runaway tries, kick chase tries and tries built on brilliant teamwork from our Staff members. But the boys used some clever footwork and hip swerves to break through the teachers’ defensive line, and even launched a few kick chases of their own. Both teams brought the defence too, with teachers and students diving for try saving tags! 🙌

The teachers took out the win by a fair few points, but the talent and sportsmanship on both sides made it a game to remember. A special shout-out to Stage 2’s Masen and Marley for helping field the teachers’ team! 👏

The teachers have the bragging rights for now… but the girls take them on next term! 👀 Will they be the ones to claim victory? 🏆

🐞🌟Year 6 & Kindergarten Buddies - Insect Hotels🌟🐞

🐝🏨 From Addy’s idea to insect hotels at SPS!

What started as an idea from Year 6 student Addy became a special morning for our Year 6 and Kindergarten students on the last day of Term 3. Addy took the initiative to develop a sustainability project for our school, then shared her plan with our P&C and asked for their support. We are so proud of her for speaking up, bringing others on board and helping turn her idea into something our students could create together! 💚

Our students worked together to fill their insect hotel boxes, with the Year 6 students helping their Kindergarten buddies along the way. A huge thank you to Dan for making the boxes, Bunnings Albion Park for donating timber and twine, and our P&C for supporting Addy’s project. 🌿🐞

The students also enjoyed a three-way rotation of colouring, reading and making Play-Doh bugs. Keep an eye out for more photos from those activities soon! 📚✨

We warmly invite our grandparents and special older people to join us on Friday 23 October for a morning of celebration!

🌸 9:15–10:30 am: Grandparents’ assembly with raffle prizes, awards, student performances and readings
☕ From 10:30 am: Morning tea in the school hall

A huge thank you to Mrs Testa for stepping into the Relieving Principal role this term! 💙 We’re grateful for the care and support she has shown our students, staff and families while leading SPS.

Thank you also to Mr Carrasco for taking over 3/4T during this time, and to Mrs Giles for stepping up as Stage 2 Assistant Principal. We appreciate everything you’ve each done for our school community! 🌟

Next term, Mrs Testa will return to 3/4T, and we can’t wait to welcome Mrs Martin to SPS. Please join us in thanking Mrs Testa, Mr Carrasco and Mrs Giles, and giving Mrs Martin a warm welcome! 💙

🎭 It was all systems go in 1/2D this week! We squeezed in plenty of rehearsals as we got ready for our performance on Wednesday.

We had so much fun showing you what we had been working on all term!

When we had a spare moment back in the classroom, we were busy learning how to solve division problems with remainders. ➗

Mums and Dads, why not test us at home with a division question and see if we can solve it for you? We’re getting pretty clever! 🤓✨
