💙 CHILD SAFETY WEEK 💙
Every child has the right to feel safe, be heard and be treated with respect.

Throughout Child Safety Week, we’re highlighting the everyday actions our educators take to protect children and create environments where they feel secure, supported and valued.

QCCS has proudly submitted our organisation-wide pledge to NAPCAN:

Today, the children worked alongside their educator to make playdough. They helped mix the ingredients, pour, stir and observe as the mixture changed into a soft, workable dough. The children enjoyed getting hands-on and using their senses to explore the texture, colour and smell of the playdough. This experience encouraged cooperation, following simple instructions, fine motor skills and creativity as the children later used the playdough to create their own shapes and ideas.

The school aged and Kindy children enjoyed making Father’s Day cards and presents using loose parts and recycled materials. They also used their creativity to design boats and pictures, exploring different shapes, materials and ideas. These experiences encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, imagination and problem-solving.

The Kindy children enjoyed going on a letter scavenger hunt around the environment! The children searched for hidden letters, identified the letters they recognized and matched them to familiar words and names. Educators encouraged the children to say the letter sounds and work together to find all the letters.

This fun, hands-on experience supported the children’s early literacy skills, letter recognition, communication and problem-solving, while encouraging curiosity and learning through play.

✨Gardening and Caring for Our Environment✨

Ms. Kym and the schoolies enjoyed spending time in the garden, planting, watering and caring for our plants. The children also checked the worm farm and talked about how worms help break down food scraps and create healthy soil for our garden. Through this hands-on experience, the children are developing an understanding of caring for nature, sustainability and the importance of looking after our environment.
