Nature Play Week 🍃
'Kids do better outside"

Nature play week celebrates initiatives of all shapes and sizes that reconnect kids with nature and the outdoors.

Nature play is a term used to describe the creation of simple play opportunities in the natural environment. Nature play encourages children and adults to see the natural environment as a place to enjoy, play, imagine, relax and explore.

Nature Play Week was developed collaboratively by individuals and organisations involved in the Kids in Nature Network.

Do you remember your favourite childhood place in nature? Where was it? How did you find it? How did you feel when you were there?

How Can I Celebrate Harmony Week?

Here are a few ideas:

• Encourage people to wear orange, the colour associated with the event.

• If you’re in a school or centre, chances are that lots of your little learners are from different cultural backgrounds.
Give them an opportunity to represent their heritages, by encouraging them to give short presentations. This is a lovely opportunity to find out more about your children and to make them feel really valued.

• You could create a class collage including photos, drawings, poems and stories to represent all the different backgrounds and cultures.

• You could also make some arts and crafts to represent different cultures. Children could take them home or gift them to each other.

• Why not make some different snacks and traditional foods from different cultures to enjoy together.
