Jarred Carrington is a Year 11 student at Seymour Flexible Learning Centre. Since his enrolment jarred has had a strong desire to work in the automotive industry. He enrolled in VET Automotive in 2025 and this only cemented his wish to become a mechanic. He was eager to experience working in an actual workplace and secure some work placement at Seymour Tyre & Mechanical. From this opportunity, Jarred displayed the right attitude in the workplace and sufficient potential for a conversation around a possible school-based apprenticeship. His employer was fully supportive of Jarred’s wish to commence a school-based apprenticeship. He will work two days a week and attend GO Tafe as part of his trade school requirements.
