FIRST stands for ‘For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology’

FIRST® Robotics Competition is a robotics competition, not a robot-fighting contest (everyone asks…). FIRST® Robotics Competition games are designed to be like team sports, and robots are not supposed to be intentionally harmed. FIRST® Robotics Competition teams are guided by solid principles of teamwork, graciousness, cooperation, camaraderie and professionalism. - READ MORE firstaustralia.org

Wilder Wolves are winners!

Following many changes and some disappointments, the Wilder Wolves have bounced back to become part of the first ever West Australian Robotics Playoffs (WARP21) winning alliance!

The Wilder Wolves also achieved the top points tally and they were the highest performing school team. They also demonstrated the core FIRST value of gracious professionalism by helping to support a pre-rookie team from St Hilda’s called Bumblebot!

Team driver, Chris, took our robot, Eve through her paces. Together they performed expert manoeuvres , shooting balls into the top goal and demonstrating Eve's unique climbing skills. Chris was supported by Jaynay, Scarlett, Jason and Ollie, who worked closely in the roles of drive coach and human player during the games.

Recent Cecil’s graduate Daniel, was an excellent source of knowledge and an excellent role model for younger Wolves. Mentors, Michael (also a Cecil’s graduate), and Kaylee, took time out of their hectic schedule to cheer everyone on and to see Eve's finest hour! Mentor, Joseph was on hand to support all teams make repairs to their robots. Meanwhile our team mascot, wolf cub (aka Ollie) ensured hats were decorated and team gifts, including badges fridge magnets and rulers, made by Alex, were given to other teams and supporters to help spread some extra FRC cheer!

Well done Wilder Wolves, we are all very proud of you!
