Last week, we celebrated Bullying No Way Week embracing the 2026 theme, โ€œSmall Acts, Big Impactโ€.

Throughout the week, students took on daily kindness challenges, encouraging them to think about how simple actions - helping someone, including others or showing kindness - can make a positive difference.

We finished the week with our Grade 5/6 students visiting Redan Campus to create posters promoting kindness, inclusion and standing up against bullying. A BBQ also brought students and staff together to celebrate the positive impact of their small acts of kindness.

It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved and helping make our College a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.

We are proud to celebrate members of the Phoenix community recognised at the 2026 Ballarat Youth Awards.

Youth Volunteer Award - Zac Douglas: Congratulations to Zac, recognised for his outstanding volunteer work running a weekly choir at Bupa Ballarat. Over two years, Zac has grown participation from six to around 20 residents, using music to create connection, joy and belonging. We are so proud of the kindness, leadership and generosity he continues to demonstrate.

Influential Adult Award (Worker) - Philip Kynoch: Congratulations to Phil, a teacher at our DOTS Program, recognised for his dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Through hands-on learning, projects, cooking programs and community involvement, Phil empowers students to build confidence, independence and practical life skills.

Group Project Award - Youth Empowerment Program (YEP): Congratulations to our Phoenix students involved in YEP - Paul Wright Quarrell, Leon Zadeh, Haydar Vreeland, Alan Smith, James Leitch, Oliver Cowden and Matilda Turner. YEP empowers young people aged 12 to 25 to create positive change in their community. Over the past year, participants have led projects addressing food insecurity, homelessness and education, including community breakfasts, fundraising initiatives, school garden projects and a free tutoring program. We are incredibly proud of our Year 8 and 9 students for their leadership, service and commitment to making a difference.

Influential Adult Award (Volunteer) - Dellaram Vreeland: Congratulations to Phoenix Alumni Dellaram, recognised for her ongoing commitment to supporting young people and her community. Dellaram continues to use the leadership skills and capabilities she developed during her time at Phoenix to support younger people as they find their own paths of service and community involvement.

We would also like to congratulate all of our Phoenix nominees who were recognised across the awards, including Charlotte Morgan - Positive Leader, Abbey Porter - Personal Growth, and Jalal Hawli - Leadership in Sports & Recreation Award.

We are incredibly proud of you all and the positive difference you continue to make in our community.

Here's the thing about Magic Moments Foundation that we love the most. ๐Ÿ’ซ

We don't send young people off for five days and wave goodbye. Once a student has been through the summit, they can go back. As a Graduate, supporting the next group of nervous MMF participants walking in the door.

That's not a one-off experience, it's a pathway and our local students are on it.

Hearing them talk about it at their reunion said everything. They came home changed the first time. Now they go back to help others. ๐Ÿ‘

That's something our customers should be really proud that their everyday banking helps make happen.

We're doing good things together. To find out how visit www.communitygrowshere.com.au ๐ŸŒ, call our branch locally in Buninyong on (03) 5341 8066 or email ๐Ÿ“ง [email protected]

Please welcome to the deck, DJ Kel. ๐ŸŽง

Our Engagement Lead Kelly did not just drop in on the Magic Moments summit. She was there for the whole thing and somewhere along the way she picked up a second job title in the Grad Room.

Here is what she came home with, aside from a sore throat. There is a difference between reading about a youth leadership program and standing in a room full of the young people going through one. The confidence. The way they speak to adults. The way they look after each other, and the way the Graduates look after the newest ones walking in.

They are genuinely impressive. Every single time.

That's something our customers should be really proud that their everyday banking helps make happen. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Welcome back Magic Moments students.

Hearing local students share what they took from this year's Magic Moments Foundation Youth Leadership and Business Summit was something else. The confidence, new ideas, the friendships made in a matter of days gives everyone in the room a tear in their eye. โ™ฅ๏ธ

We love seeing Ballarat's secondary school students represented at an event like this, because the impact on their pathways, their leadership and their personal growth is enormous. Our customers should be proud of their banking continuing again to support year 11 student scholarships to attend. ๐Ÿ’

Thank you to the students and their families for joining us for a reunion. We could not be prouder of you and our partner organisations for their support including Soroptimist International of Ballarat Inc, Sebastopol and District Lions Club and Buninyong-Mt Helen Lions Club.

Wonderful news for our Phoenix students Micah and Billie, who made their Bowls Victoria Under 18 debut in New South Wales over the weekend.

Victoria claimed the overall championship, with the Junior Boys taking out their division and the Junior Girls narrowly missing the top spot.

Congratulations on representing Victoria at such a high level. We are incredibly proud of you!
