Our GALS (Girls as Leaders in STEM) students had an exciting start to the day this morning, heading into the ABC Ballarat studio to chat about their experiences in the program!

Isla, Lesinda and Megan spoke about their GALS projects, the real-world problems they have been working to solve, and what they have learnt through the program. From Donate the Look, a mobile op-shop designed to encourage more sustainable fashion, to Move Ballarat, which uses stickers to encourage people to get active, our students have been developing creative ideas while building their STEM, teamwork and leadership skills.

It was fantastic to see our students confidently representing Phoenix and sharing their experiences with the wider Ballarat community.

🎓 And just like that... it’s the final week of Year 12!

The countdown is officially on for our Class of 2026. After years of learning, growing, friendships, challenges, achievements and plenty of memories along the way, our Year 12 students have reached their final week of school. This week is about celebrating how far they’ve come, making those last memories together and enjoying every moment before they take their next steps beyond Phoenix.

A New Generation of Artists!

What a fantastic day at the Phoenix Academy of the Arts Inaugural Audition Day!

Twenty aspiring young artists showcased their creativity across Visual Arts, Dance and Acting/Directing, exploring the theme The Four Elements and working alongside our talented Academy mentors.

The creativity, talent and enthusiasm on display was incredible. We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of Phoenix artists!

Congratulations to Shakira Sporle, who represented Phoenix at the 2026 Victorian Young Leaders to China Cultural Immersion Day.

Shakira took part in a museum tour, Treasure Hunt and Chinatown Amazing Race, developing her knowledge of Chinese Australian history and culture while building her confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills. A special highlight was finishing among the top two teams in the Amazing Race - an incredible achievement as the only student on her team!

Well done, Shakira! You represented Phoenix with pride and showed what an amazing young leader you are!
