We would like to invite you to follow our Seaforth Public School - "our.school.garden" Instagram Page.
Seaforth Public School was one of the first Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Gardens to be established in NSW & has been running for 14 years! Our garden spreads out over ¼ acre & we grow vegetables, fruit, bush tucker, flowers and in addition we have chickens, bees & a frog pond plus our very own onsite brush turkey nest....lol.
Each week on our Instagram page, we post what we've been up to in our garden and kitchen. We want to share this with you, our not so traditional classroom where some of the most significant outcomes are seen. These activities include:
• investigation
• harvesting
• planting
• composting
• worm farms
• sustainability
• chickens
• tadpoles/frogs
• tips & tricks
• art
• cooking
• bush tucker
• preserving
• dehydrating
• eating/tasting
We are very proud and passionate about what we do and teach in our garden and school kitchen and hope that you enjoy following us on our journey.

DID YOU KNOW?
Pumpkins have separate male and female flowers on the same plant. That means that it takes two to make a pumpkin.
Pollen must be moved from the male to the female flower. Bees visiting flowers transfer pollen but it can also be done by hand 🐝

Produce goes straight from our school garden, harvested by our students to our school kitchen. We have been busy making potato/spinach frittata, pickled red cabbage and sweet & sour cucumber pickles 😋 Nothing goes to waste. What we can’t use straight away is preserved/pickled/frozen for later.
