JUST ANNOUNCED: We are off to perform at the Wakakirri Awards Night and have been nominated for a National Award!!
Following our Performance of the original "The Tree That Watched Us Grow" at Frankston Arts Centre last week we have been nominated for the National Story-Dance Award and have been selected to perform at the upcoming Awards Night on Monday 7 September.
This is an incredible achievement in Australia’s largest performing arts event for schools, with 191 schools participating across the country in 2026.
Our school also received a number of awards on the night of last week's performance, including:

🏆 Storytelling Award – Strong Use of the Festival Motif
🏆 Ensemble Award – Dancing and Acting
🏆 Ensemble Award – Choreography
🏆 Production Award – Sets, Props and Costumes
🏆 Ensemble Award – Well-Performed Rehearsal
We are particularly proud of the Spirit of Wakakirri Award, presented to just one school each performance night for demonstrating goodwill, supporting other schools, showing respect to staff and crew, and representing their school positively. A wonderful demonstration of our College Values in action!
Wakakirri Ambassador Joti Van Carlos Gore described the performance as “masterful & heartwarming”, praising the powerful metaphor of the tree and the heartfelt storytelling.
A huge congratulations to our 76 students, and an enormous thank you to Ms Theodore and Ms Heazlewood, along with the staff, families and volunteers who helped bring this incredible production to life.
