Upper Hunter Family Day Care, celebrating 46 years of early childhood education and care services.

Upper Hunter Family Day Care is a boutique Early Childhood Service that registers and mentors qualified Educators to provide education and care from their own homes. We are among the very first schemes to be established when Family Day Care started in 1979, and have now been operating for more than 40 years. Upper Hunter Shire Council sponsors the scheme, which services an area of over 13,000 squa

re km. Upper Hunter Family Day Care provide services within the Upper Hunter Shire as well as the Lower Hunter and New England areas. UHFDC have three long existing staff who are locally based in Scone, and readily available to assist families in sourcing their family-based care arrangements, as well as provide personalised ongoing support to each of our Educators, and develop individual learning opportunities for our children. We are proud to have been independently assessed and rated as meeting the National Quality Standards for education and care services. We are a reputable and reliable service that is renowned for their commitment to provide a quality service to the local communities that we operate in.

Today, as we celebrate Early Childhood Educators Day, we are also celebrating something pretty incredible…

Together, our educators bring 127 years of experience, connection and commitment to the Family Day Care community!

From those who are celebrating incredible milestones, including 25 years, 22 years, 15 years, 13 years and beyond, to those who are still building their journey within Family Day Care, every educator brings something unique to our community.

Behind those 127 years are countless children welcomed into care, families supported, relationships built, stories shared, challenges overcome and memories made.

Family Day Care is more than just a career. It is a community built on relationships, experience, dedication and a genuine commitment to children and families.

Today, we want to recognize and celebrate Jayne, Donna, Tracey, Kate, Ebony, Makala, Megan, Corinne and Belinda — and thank them for everything they bring to our Family Day Care community.

🌟 Celebrating an Outstanding Contribution

As we conclude our recognition series, we are proud to celebrate Helen Clark and her extraordinary contribution to Upper Hunter Family Day Care.

For more than 28 years, Helen has been a constant source of knowledge, kindness and support to our educators, families and coordination team. While administration team members are not eligible for an FDCA Excellence Award, we couldn't let this opportunity pass without recognising the incredible impact Helen has made on our service.
