This amazing cast of students from Years 3 to 12 is ready to take to the stage for this weekend's production of Beauty and the Beast Jr.

Featuring our largest-ever cast, this production is a wonderful reflection of the continued growth and strength of Southern Cross Catholic College's musical theatre program.

After months of rehearsals, countless hours of hard work and plenty of dedication, our talented performers are ready to share this spectacular show with families, friends and the wider community.

From much-loved classics to creative new favourites, students and staff embraced the joy of reading, bringing a host of colourful book characters to life.

Oakley as The Beast / Prince

Oakley has the deepest passion for the performing arts and has been acting since he was six. His biggest dream in life is to become an actor and to grow his experiences in acting through our musicals here at SCCC.

"I have been a part of all musicals performed at SCCC and have moved up the
ranks, finally able to play leads. Starting from Moana as ensemble, Matilda as Michael, Shrek as Donkey, Once Upon A One More Time as Narrator, and this year, where I am honoured to play the Beast with the amazing cast we have."

We can't wait to welcome Oakley to the stage once more in Beauty and the Beast Jr.

🌟 Introducing Our 2027 Student Leadership Team 🌟

We are proud to announce the Southern Cross Catholic College Student Leadership Team for 2027.

Selected through a comprehensive leadership process, these students have demonstrated a commitment to the values, spirit and character of our College. Their willingness to serve others, lead with integrity and make a positive contribution to our community reflects the very best of Southern Cross.

We also acknowledge and thank every Year 11 student who stepped forward and participated in the leadership process. The courage, commitment and leadership potential demonstrated across the cohort gives us great confidence in the future of our College.

Last week, Woody Point students had the wonderful opportunity to meet Brisbane-based children's author Charlotte Barkla.

Charlotte is an author, teacher and international speaker. During engaging interactive sessions, Charlotte shared her much-loved stories and gave students a fascinating insight into the creative writing process. From where ideas begin to how books come to life, students left feeling inspired to read, write and let their imaginations soar.

A huge thank you to Charlotte for encouraging a love of literature and storytelling in our young learners. 💙

Ava as Lumiere

Ava is thrilled to be stepping into the role of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast!

Since joining the SCCC musical program in Matilda Jr in 2023, Ava has loved every opportunity to perform, make new friendships, and grow in confidence on stage. From Matilda Jr to Once Upon A One More Time, each production has created memories she'll treasure forever.

Now, she's ready to bring Lumiere's charm, humour and energy to life and welcome audiences to the castle with a spectacular "Be Our Guest!" ✨✨

Indiana as Lumiere

As she takes the stage for her final SCCC musical, Indi is excited to be bringing one of Beauty and the Beast's most memorable characters to life.

Since joining the musical program in 2024 for Shrek, Indi has grown in confidence and embraced every opportunity to perform, including playing the Stepmother in Once Upon A One More Time.

Grateful for the support of her teachers and the SCCC musical community, Indi is ready to make the most of her final performance. We can't wait to watch her shine! ✨
