A big shout out to the team at Choice Stainless . Geoff, Andrea and the team are deadset legends. I developed a significant leak through my swim ladder deck plugs due to corrosion hidden from sight. I could only get 2 days alongside and they not only did excellent work making the new fittings but also squeezed me in around other work because I was on a restricted timeline. Everyone I interacted with were friendly and obliging. I'm big on customer service and these guys have it in droves to match the high quality of workmanship.

Today's jobs are done. Put Chris Galloway bimini window together. Final fit, trim and hem left to go to finish it off. Not bad for a first go at something like this.

Pulled up my crab pot before leaving the river this morning. Thought I'd had a win until I turned it over. A Ginny so back she went.

No fishing no ditching of gash. Diving operations in progress.
Going for a quick dip to check the hull with a touch of old school Navy Scooby Doo. My ready use dive bag has my original US Divers regs 1991 vintage (civil style), back pack, steel tank, Pussers 3lb weights and dive knife (the big old one is in my dive bag.

Well that was fun. Storm hit as I was getting back from picking up the car. I stood on the shore and watched her and you wouldn't know it was a storm. The girl hardly budged. I got on board and a few loose items had moved but otherwise fine.
As an aside thanks to Greg Churchill and Chris Galloway for your counsel regarding my sail drive. I found evidence of water in the oil and Churchy explained that condensation can build up when you sit for a bit. Low and behold I moved the boat to reset my anchor and the oil was fine.
Another lesson learnt from my brains trust.

The repair work continues. The new Chattplotter has a smaller footprint so a repair needed doing. My first go at doing this sort of work at anchor. Shaping a fill in piece and edging it so that it's structurally sound. Pretty happy with the outcome. Some filling and fairing tomorrow then prime and paint then fit the new Raymarine MFD.

First major sewing job for the boat completed. One awning down one to go and a Bimini cover. Tomorrow I finish off the main bat cover of 28m2.

Foredeck awning taking shape.
Now to trial fit and mark height of drop sides.

The old awning has been re-waterproofed, edges reinforced and stitched onto the shade cloth.

When folded and rolled it is 500mm x 200mm and weighs less than 5kgs.

Slice of Heaven is in Scarborough Marina but today I am house sitting at my brother's and I've turned his shed into a sail loft to build my boat covers by repurposing shade sails, old canvas cover and off cut new canvas. Low cost and eco friendly. Waste not want not.

Bunnings the big green chandlery. Found these metal collapsible baskets that fit perfectly. With room for essential such as Ice.
