42 South Surf School presents SURF GROMS as part of the SPORTING SCHOOLS PROGRAM.
This program is FULLY FUNDED through the federally funded SPORTING SCHOOLS PROGRAM. The Program and all gear (Surfboards, Warm Wetsuits ) provided at NO COST to your school.
The SURF GROMS Program will be delivered at a beach closest to your school .
Term 4 funding 2026 is OPEN Monday 3rd August for all Primary and Secondary Schools .

SurfGroms Fast Facts
SurfGroms is a national junior development program for 5-12yr olds that encourages kids to get involved in surfing and stand-up paddle all around Australia.

Level 1 is designed for complete beginners as an introduction to surfing and the ocean environment. Please Note Children NEED TO BE WATER CONFIDENT, BE ABLE TO SUBMERGE AND MOVE FREELY (WALKING)IN SURF CONDITIONS
Surf Safety
Surf conditions, etiquette and basic surf rescue skills have all been incorporated into the nudie SURF GROMS Program. Before any SURF GROM receives a completion certificate, they must have successfully demonstrated all of the relevant ocean awareness and beach safety skills for each level.
The Children can progress from Level 1 (Beginner) to Level 5 (Advanced).
During 2016-2025 schools such as Lady of Lourdes ,Rokeby, Lilydale, Sprent, Devonport , Swansea , East Ulverstone, Penguin, Romaine Park, St Patricks , and St Helens Primary students have taken part in a 4 hour program that can be delivered during or after school. The program can be delivered to specific grades, gender or groupings that the school requires .

TERM 4 2026 FUNDING GRANTS NOW OPEN till AUGUST 21st.

Locals beware!!! Yesterday at approximately 12pm our van was broken into at Dark Hollow Car Park, they jammed a key into the lock barrel to gain entry and stole numerous items including a black wallet with everyday cards/license, black/blue duffel bag, personal toiletries including electric toothbrush, black business diary with business logo on the front and neon yellow Bluetooth Beats Flex EarPods. Thieves often dump stuff they don’t need, so if you see any of these items by the road, in buses, in bins please let me know. From yesterday afternoon, the thieves made several attempts to make online transactions from $2 to $2000. Make sure you learn how to temporarily lock or freeze your cards using bank apps. Be on lookout this Easter for any suspicious activity in car parks locally.
