Professor Swee-Hoon Chuah will be leading an interactive session applying behavioural insights to understand and address unconscious bias during MTEC2023.

Dr Swee-Hoon Chuah is the Director of the Tasmanian Behavioural Lab at the University of Tasmania. She is a behavioural economist whose expertise lies in the application of behavioural insights to public policy challenges. She has worked with organisations such as the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA), the Consumer Policy Research Centre Victoria, Brand Tasmania, Volunteering Tasmania and the Youth Network of Tasmania. She also conducts research in the area of cross-cultural experimental economics, in particular the impact of factors such as race and religion on socio-economic behaviour.

TILES researchers and colleagues have just published their research with ACON into the experiences of sexual violence of LGBTQ+ people in NSW.

Our new research found most participants experienced sexual violence at multiple points across their lives. And many reported negative experiences when trying to access support.

The Education, Employment and Learning grant round is now open and the Tasmanian Community Fund wish to invite prospective applicants located in the North and North West of Tasmania to meet with TCF staff to discuss their project ideas.

Tasmanian Community Fund staff will be in Devonport on Wednesday 22 February and in Launceston on Thursday 23 February. This is an opportunity for groups who would like to meet with a staff member to discuss their project idea to do so in person or if there are any problems accessing or using SmartyGrants to get some one-on-one assistance. You can discuss a project idea for the Education, Employment and Learning grant rounds or something that you are thinking about in preparation for a future round (it is never too early to start the conversation).
