Gold Medal Speaker! 🥇🎤

Aquinas Year 6 student Torsten has achieved an impressive gold medal at the IPSHA Speaker Challenge, proudly representing Aquinas with his speech, How to Build a Spitfire.🪖✈️

Inspired by his favourite hobby of building model planes with his Pop, Torsten’s speech shared the struggles he encounters and the lessons he learns, all delivered with plenty of humour.

With his natural storytelling ability, captivating stage presence and undeniable charisma, Torsten impressed the audience and judges, taking home the top honour.🥇

A huge congratulations to Torsten on this wonderful recognition of his talent in public speaking! 👏 We can’t wait to hear more from Torsten as he continues his Aquinas journey. 🎤

Today, we announced the next generation of leaders who will help guide, support and inspire our College community in 2027.

Congratulations to all our newly appointed 2027 Captains. We look forward to seeing you lead with heart and integrity, serve with purpose, and embody the true spirit of being an Aquinian.

We are also proud to announce Tristan as our 2027 College Captain, with Flynn as Vice Captain. Together with their fellow Captains and student leaders, they will play an important role in shaping the year ahead.

Book Week Magic in the Junior School📚💫

Celebrating our favourite event of the year, this morning our Junior School came alive with plenty of imagination for this year's theme 'A Symphony of Stories'.📖🎶

Our special Book Week Assembly and Parade got off on a musical note with our very own Junior School ‘Poco Strings’, who played some magical music for our students, staff and Aquinas families. 🎻✨

The array of costumes was wonderful to see, with incredible thought and creativity from our boys and staff capturing the spirit of their chosen character. It was also fantastic to welcome so many parents and families who joined us for the parade and helped make the morning such a celebration.👏

Book Week is always a fun reminder of the joy of reading, the power of storytelling and the worlds that books open up for young minds.🧠✨

At Aquinas, we love books, we love stories, and we certainly love Book Week!📚🌈

Be a camp leader. Be someone who makes a difference.🙏

Aquinas student Albie has been putting that idea into action through Thriive Camps, formerly Edmund Rice Camps, which run during the January and July school holidays. Albie has now been involved in a number of camps and says the experience has been just as rewarding for the leaders as it is for the children.

"Volunteering with Thriive has shown me how much a few days of support, encouragement and just having fun together can mean to a young person. As a camp leader, I get to help create a place where kids feel safe, included and valued, and hopefully leave with a bit more confidence in themselves. Thriive has also had a huge impact on me. It’s given me a different perspective on life and is something I know I’ll carry with me for a long time."

Each camp brings together around 25 children and young leaders for a technology-free experience in regional WA, with time in nature, home-cooked meals, games, sport, arts and crafts, dancing and plenty of much-loved camp traditions.🏕️

For young people looking for a meaningful way to give back, gain service hours, grow in confidence and make a real difference, becoming a Thriive camp leader is an opportunity well worth considering. Be part of the January camp by expressing your interest here:

Pages, Pencils and Possibility for Book Week! 📚✏️

To kick off an exciting Book Week in the Junior School, we had the pleasure of welcoming Perth-based, New York Times best-selling cartoonist and author Gavin Aung Than! 👏

Gavin’s work includes the cartoon blog, ‘Zen Pencils’, the graphic novel series, ‘Super Sidekicks’, and the ‘Baa Baa Black Belt’ picture books, amongst many other publications.

Gavin spent the day with our Junior School boys, sharing his journey from corporate graphic designer to award-winning creator, and bringing storytelling and illustration to life through an engaging workshop. ✏️📖

It was a wonderful opportunity for our boys to learn from a talented Australian author and illustrator while inspiring their own creativity and, most importantly, developing a lifelong love of reading. ❤️🖤
