I created my home yoga studio because I wanted to share the incredible benefits that yoga has brought into my own life. The greatest gift it has given me is mentally—the opportunity to slow down, breathe, quiet the noise, and find a sense of calm in the chaos.
My biggest motivation came when my son, Arthur, was just 8 months old. I was struggling with postnatal depression and anxiety. I rarely left the house, I wasn’t eating well or moving my body, and I wasn’t enjoying motherhood the way I’d imagined.
I knew something had to change, and for me, that change started with returning to my yoga practice.
That decision became something much bigger. Teaching yoga has always being a dream, but having an old shed renovated into the home studio and starting my own yoga business has been next level. This while trying to return to work, navigating endless daycare illnesses, a hospital admission, ongoing health concerns for Arthur, and raising a little boy who, even now, has never slept through the night. Six or more wake-ups is still our normal.
Some days feel overwhelming and blur into one another, but through it all, my family and my yoga practice have been my anchor. Yoga gave me the space to breathe when life felt heavy, and it’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
Now, my passion is creating that same space for other parents.
I know how hard it can be to put yourself first when you have little ones. That’s why I’ve created a family-friendly studio where you don’t have to choose between looking after your child and looking after yourself. There’s a playpen, toys and books, and your little one is welcome to stay beside you, play happily nearby, or explore the space while you enjoy your practice.
My hope is that every person who walks through my studio doors leaves feeling a little calmer, a little stronger, and a little more connected to themselves. Because sometimes, all we need is one hour to breathe, move, and simply be.
If you’ve been thinking about trying yoga but weren’t sure how you’d manage with your little one, I’d love to welcome you. Send me a message for more information.
