And just like that, classes are done and dusted for 2025. A HUGE thank you to the students for all their work, and to the families who attended today's performances.

Enrolments are open for 2026 and I have opened a waiting list for both DramaTeens (Thursdays 4-5:30) and DramaKids (Saturdays 9-10) as both classes are now full. Term 1 dates for 2026 are attached.

Tomorrow is performance day!
Intermediates - students arrive at 9:45 for rehearsal, doors open for families and friends at 10:25.
Seniors - students arrive at 11 for rehearsals, doors open for families and friends at 11:35

Intermediate and Senior classes resume tomorrow at 9:45-10:45 and 11-12! Only TWO classes this term. We have our dress rehearsals tomorrow, and our performances next Saturday. Refer to the note sent home before the holidays for costume requirements and performance times 🎭

Last day of the school holidays, last day of costume making. Our final character is Smiley, created by Daniil, from the Intermediate play, Through the Portal: Guardians of the Multiverse. Smiley is a scorpion who lives in a volcano, but who has been dragged into a different dimension where he befriends Bob, a fish comedian. We met Bob in an earlier post.

This morning I made Smiley’s tail, and I will finish his costume by making his claws and a headpiece.

Dress rehearsals next Saturday, then our performances the following weekend, Saturday August 2nd.

The Saturday Drama School is changing!
Our new look for 2026 sees just TWO classes a week: DramaTeens (for 13 years and over) will run from 4-5:30 after school on Thursdays, and DramaKids (for children 7-12 years) will run from 9-10 on Saturday mornings.

Same venue, same price. Enrolments are now open for DramaTeens and signup for DramaKids from in class from July 26th.

And just like that, the Thursday Youth Theatre Ensemble wrapped up for the year. Three original works, written and directed by the students, performed for their families this afternoon. Beautiful testimonials from the students and their families 🥰

Drama has held such an important place in the lives of these teenagers, many of whom started with me as primary school aged children.

There will be changes afoot in the new year. Watch this space, and keep an eye on your emails.

And that’s a wrap for this term! We now have a break for the school holidays.

This is Bob. Bob is a fish comedian and runs a comedy club in the Intermediate play. Bob was created by Archer.

I’ve been keeping busy with costume making.
This morning’s effort has been the Dalmatian ears and tail requested by Harvey for his character of Dog in the Junior play, and a horse head mask for Blackberry, created and played by Louisa in the Intermediate play.

Just two weeks to go until the end of term and the Junior play is almost ready. Today the students practiced in their character head pieces. Below you see our fabulous donkey and cat! I hope to have photos of our dog and rooster next week.

As some of our families will be absent for the next few weeks, the end of term program is as follows.
