For the second year running, we have partnered with Ashleigh House to connect, share stories and bring joy through music and community. Recently, our school choir and SRC students had the privilege of visiting Ashleigh House to perform, connect and spend time with the residents.

The choir sang beautifully, with many residents singing along, clapping and even dancing throughout the performance. Beyond the music, it was wonderful to see our students chatting with residents with such grace, kindness and respect. We even got to sing a very special surprise Happy Birthday to one of the residents! The connections formed reflected the heart of Catholic Social Teaching by recognising the dignity of every person, building community and showing compassion through service and relationships.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the warmth and joy they brought to the afternoon, and we know the experience will stay with them for a long time.

Thank you to the Ashleigh Community Ltd for welcoming us so warmly and providing us with afternoon tea. We can’t wait for our return visit and we really value our partnership with such a beautiful place! ✨

Huge effort from our superstar runners at SSV Wellington Divisions last week! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Emmy raced her way into 8th place and has officially qualified for the next level - what an amazing achievement! We wish her all the very best as she takes on the next stage.

Brody also gave it his absolute all, finishing in a fantastic 15th place. We are so proud of both of these legends for their determination, effort and the way they represented our school.

Fast feet, big smiles and plenty of school pride!

As Catholic Education Week comes to a close, we reflect on what has been a truly uplifting and memorable week for our school community. From welcoming many wonderful families through our doors during Open Days, to joining together with Catholic schools from across the Diocese of Sale for a special celebration at Nagle College, it has been a week filled with faith, connection and community.

Representatives from 40 Catholic schools proudly carried their school banners as student leaders from across the Diocese led a procession into the Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Greg Bennet.

We were incredibly proud of our student leaders (Larry, Poppy, Eva, Patrick and Natalie) who represented our school with maturity, respect and kindness, and were wonderful ambassadors for our community throughout the day. A special thank you to Nagle College for their thoughtful handmade cross, a beautiful gift and reminder of the spirit of Catholic Education Week.

This week has been a powerful reminder of the value of Catholic education and the strong sense of faith, service and belonging shared across the Diocese of Sale.

If you’re walking through our doors this week for Open Days, these are the friendly faces who will most likely greet you first and help keep St Mary’s Primary School running each day with a smile (and probably a coffee in hand ☕).

✨ Mr Brett Morris — Principal
✨ Mrs Nicole Telfer — Deputy Principal
✨ Mrs Michelle Fairweather — Administration Officer
✨ Mrs Elyse Counahan — Business Administrator

The team answering the phones, calming the chaos, finding lost jumpers, organising absolutely everything and somehow knowing the answer to every question before it’s even asked.

Schools don’t run without great people, and we are very lucky to have this wonderful team greeting families through our doors each day.

See you tomorrow (or Thursday) - 9-11am.
