What happens when you invite students to help shape the spaces they love spending time in?
This term, Garnsey Campus has launched a new ISC (Information Services Centre) Ambassadors Club, giving students a direct voice in helping guide reading, resources and future ideas for the space.
Meeting each Wednesday at recess, our ISC Ambassadors are working alongside staff to explore everything from trending genres and reading habits through to curating future book purchases and creating engaging displays.
The first focus for the Ambassadors was Curating the Collection, with students reviewing potential new additions to the shelves and sharing what they actually want to read. Graphic novels, crime, thrillers, mysteries and dyslexic-friendly texts all featured in the discussion.
Already, student recommendations are making an impact, including the addition of a new science magazine that has quickly become popular.
Alongside initiatives such as a new quiet reading space, Book of the Week displays and expanded face-out shelving to make discovering books easier, the ISC continues to evolve as a space shaped with students, not just for students.
As Library Technician Brittney Sutherland says: โThese students are the best students to help us curate the collection as they are some of the students who are most engaged with the ISC and are the ones reading the books.โ ๐

From ELC to VCE, one of the unique strengths of Gippsland Grammar is the opportunity for students to learn alongside and from one another across all stages of schooling. ๐ซถ Earlier this term, our Year 11 English Language students visited the St Anneโs ELC as part of their studies into linguistic fieldwork and child language acquisition.
The visit gave students the opportunity to observe early language development in a real-world setting while engaging with our youngest learners through conversation and play-based activities.
Experiences like this highlight the benefits of being an ELC to VCE school, where meaningful connections between age groups enrich learning opportunities across the entire School Community. ๐

The kind of leadership that makes a difference is often found in the everyday moments.
Congratulations to Year 6 student Seb, who recently received a Principalโs Commendation Award in recognition of the positive impact he makes across our School Community.
Seb consistently demonstrates our values through the compassion, respect and responsibility he shows to others, particularly in the way he supports younger students. He is known for stepping in to help without being asked, lending a hand wherever needed and creating a welcoming environment through his positive attitude.
Arriving each morning with a big smile and friendly greeting and leaving the same way at the end of the day, Sebโs quiet leadership and willingness to support others make a meaningful difference.
Well done, Seb, on this well-deserved recognition. ๐

๐ Dribbling, passing, shooting and plenty of smiles were on display as girls from Years 3โ6 took part in a special Basketball Clinic this week.
Designed for both experienced players and those trying the sport for the first time, the clinic provided a fun and supportive environment where students could develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy being active together.
It was wonderful to see so many girls embracing the opportunity, encouraging one another and demonstrating great enthusiasm, participation and sportsmanship throughout the session. ๐ A fantastic day of learning, teamwork and fun on the court. ๐
