A scholarship can open the door. What a student does with the opportunity is what really matters. 💫

Our final 2027 scholarships are now open for motivated students ready to challenge themselves, make the most of new opportunities and contribute to our School Community.

From building strong foundations at our St Anne’s and Bairnsdale junior campuses to finishing VCE strongly at Garnsey Campus, scholarships are available for new students across selected year levels.

Junior School Entry Scholarships offer 20-33 per cent tuition fee remission, while Finish Strong VCE Scholarships offer up to 50 per cent.

Year 11 student Alisha has received a Principal’s Commendation for her outstanding contribution to Gippsland Grammar, particularly her initiative in establishing and leading a successful Model United Nations Club.

Through her enthusiasm and inclusive leadership, Alisha has created a new opportunity within the ISC for students of all abilities to debate ideas, explore global issues and learn together.

Today, beanies were worn across Gippsland Grammar in memory of Old Scholar Billy Adams (Class of 2017), who died from brain cancer in 2019 at just 20 years of age. 💚

This is the seventh year our School Community has come together for Beanies 4 Billy Day, remembering a young man whose connection with Gippsland Grammar spanned more than a decade, from Year 3 at our Bairnsdale Campus, through to Garnsey and his senior years at Blackwood House.

From our youngest children in the ELCs through to our Year 12 students, beanies have been worn across all three campuses and, at Bairnsdale, our Service-Learning Representatives and Year 6 students added their own contribution, baking cupcakes and choc-chip cookies for a recess stall that raised around $600. Combined with gold coin donations from across the School, funds raised today will support Connor’s Run, which raises money for paediatric brain cancer research, treatment and support.

Seven years on, Beanies 4 Billy remains an important day on our School calendar and a special way to ensure Billy’s memory and legacy continue within the community that knew and loved him. 💚

Chess players, public speakers and debaters from across the SEISA schools gathered at our Garnsey Campus for the SEISA Cultural Festival, with Gippsland Grammar claiming wins in Senior Chess, Senior Public Speaking and Junior Debating.

Year 11 student Hamish took first place in Senior Public Speaking, delivering a prepared speech on AI safety before tackling the impromptu topic ‘What I wish adults understood’. Our junior public speakers also rose to the challenge, with just three minutes to prepare their impromptu speeches.

Both of our Junior Debating teams went through the day undefeated, debating ‘That video surveillance should be in all public places’, while our Senior Debaters also won their debate on ‘AI is more problematic than helpful’.

At the chessboards, Year 12 student Joel claimed silver in the Senior competition and Year 7 student Ada silver in Juniors.

Congratulations to all students who represented Gippsland Grammar with confidence, quick thinking and plenty of skill throughout the day.

ICAS Mathematics marked the final of five ICAS competitions our students have taken part in before school on Monday mornings over the past month.

These competitions provide an opportunity for students to extend their learning, challenge themselves and put their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to the test.

A great example of the many opportunities our students have to take their learning that little bit further.

📚 From our littlest Roos to our Year 6s, the whole Bairnsdale Campus came dressed for the Book Week this morning! 💚

The Campus celebrations brought together students from ELC to Year 6, along with plenty of enthusiastic staff, for a colourful parade through the Hall.

Our four-year-old Roos joined their Year 5 buddies for the parade, while classes took turns showing off costumes inspired by favourite books and characters. Even the Tuckshop joined the fun with some special Book Week-themed treats.

Bringing this year’s CBCA theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’, to life was Teacher Librarian Melanie Fenby, who transformed the Hall for the celebrations and took on the very fitting role of conductor of our Bairnsdale book symphony. 🎼📖

A wonderful celebration of books, imagination and the joy of reading across our whole Bairnsdale Campus.

Could Gippsland Grammar be the right next step for your child? 👉 Applications are now open for our final 2027 scholarship opportunities, offering new students the chance to join Gippsland Grammar at both Junior School and VCE level.

🎓 Junior School Entry Scholarships - Available for students entering Years 2, 4, 5 and 6 at St Anne’s Campus, and Years 2, 3 and 4 at Bairnsdale Campus. Scholarships provide between 20 and 33 per cent tuition fee remission.

Three teams. Three wins. Three tickets to the State Final! 🏆

What an outstanding result for our Bairnsdale Campus at the Tournament of Minds Gippsland Regional Final on Saturday.

Four teams of Year 5 and 6 students travelled to Federation University to compete, with our Arts, Social Sciences and Language Literature teams each winning their division and earning a place at the State Final in Melbourne in September. Our STEM team also performed strongly, receiving Honours for their challenges.

It's our best Tournament of Minds result yet ... and one that has been months in the making. Since the beginning of Term 2, students have spent recesses and afternoons after school working together to tackle their long-term challenges, developing their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork along the way.

Just as importantly, our students represented our School beautifully throughout the competition, with their conduct exemplifying our CLERR values of Compassion, Leadership, Excellence, Responsibility and Respect.

Congratulations to all four teams and the staff who have supported them. Melbourne, here we come!

There was plenty of cheer around Garnsey Campus today, with students and staff embracing the occasion through costumes, activities and a lunchtime Year 12 Students v Teachers Tabletop Games Challenge in the ISC.

Chess, UNO, Jenga, Connect 4, Pictionary, Guess Who?, Wavelength and plenty more were in full swing, with our Year 12s and teachers battling it out across the tables (fuelled by some sweet treats!).

Around the Campus, the literary inspiration continued. Our English Department transformed into the Mr Men characters, Year 9B took inspiration from The Very Hungry Caterpillar (complete with some impressive baking from Mrs Rajapakse 👏), while Dr Seuss, Harry Potter and Alvin and the Chipmunks also made appearances.

Best of all, today's fun had a purpose. Gold coin donations raised more than $370 for Reading Out of Poverty, an Australian charity helping improve children's literacy outcomes and providing books and reading support to families.

Thank you to everyone who dressed up, played along and donated, particularly to our prefects and the ISC's Brittany Sutherland and Joy Reid for helping bring the day together. 📖 Children's Book Council of Australia (Vic)
