On Friday 28 August, 15 CCDC students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Chifley College Maths Enrichment Day.

The event provided students with the chance to challenge themselves, think creatively and work collaboratively as they explored a range of engaging mathematical activities. It was wonderful to see our students approaching each task with enthusiasm, persistence and curiosity, while further developing their confidence and appreciation for mathematics.

Our Year 7 team, consisting of Jakob, Malakye, Levi and Reece, achieved an outstanding first place. Aissatou and Hannah proudly represented our Year 8 team, placing second. The Year 9 team, made up of Heavenly, Annalise, Kelinda and Alexis, placed third, while our Year 10 team of Hadi, Areeb, Callan, Rahil and Josh achieved equal third place.

Overall, CCDC placed fourth. Congratulations to all students involved for representing CCDC so positively and making the most of this valuable learning experience.

Four of our Year 10 students spent the term working with fellow Chifley College campuses as a part of Chifley Creatives. This year’s focus has been on poetry, inspired by the timeless drama of Romeo and Juliet.
Students wrote and performed poems built on Shakespeare's themes of love, complex relationships, fate, passion, violence, desire and societies expectations as a springboard to reflect on their own lives and experiences.
