Term 3 | Week 8

It's starting to feel a lot like Spring has Sprung!

Following an absolutely massive Book Week, things will return to (almost) normal for Week 8.

Thank you to our parents and special people at home who supported an exceptional Book Week for us all last week by preparing costumes, coordinating school visits for Grandparents and friends, packing teddies for the Teddy Bears Picnic, and making sure everyone came to school with all the things they needed each day last week - such as bikes and spending money for Book Fair!

Finishing off the week on a high was a wonderful outcome following the cancellation of the Primary School Athletics. Students showing great resilience to manage the disappointment and put their best foot forward to make the most of the tabloid sports.

We look forward to another terrific week, including Bike Ed, in Week 8!

See you at Assembly tomorrow!

The sky is blue, the sun is shining and music is pumping! We are not missing out on fun in the sun today - making the most of this stunning day to enjoy tabloid sports - big thank you to the Student Leaders and Mrs Polkinghorne for their organisation of this opportunity to get outside and be active.

Beautiful Spain was the inspiration for our cooking today. Renowned for its food, in particular the wonderful tradition of Tapas, small share plates of deliciousness that are served everywhere around the country.

The Tapas dishes that we cooked today were:

๐Ÿฅ” Patatas Bravas - fried potatoes topped with a delicious tomato sauce.

๐ŸฅŸ Empanadas - pastie style bites, with a cheesy spinach filling.

๐Ÿฅจ Cinnamon Palmiers - puff pastry with a buttery, sugary cinnamony topping. Perfection!

A great day at St Arnaud Primary School ๐ŸŽ

Parking was at a premium on Charlton Road today as special visitors flooded our classrooms for our special Book Week edition of Grandparents Day.

Topping off the special visitors was a delicious and ample morning tea - much of which had been made in our own kitchen by students using the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation recipes (see photo of the menu).

Thank you to the parents, grandparents and special friends who came along and joined in classroom learning - you made the day of your special children and we loved having you too!

Term 3 | Week 7 ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽถ Childrenโ€™s Book Week 2026 โ€“ Symphony of Stories ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ“š

Itโ€™s one of our favourite weeks of the year! This week we are celebrating Childrenโ€™s Book Week 2026 and the wonderful theme โ€œSymphony of Storiesโ€, a celebration of the stories, voices, characters and ideas that come together to create the wonderful world of books.

Our school will be celebrating all week with activities designed to bring stories to life, spark imaginations and, most importantly, remind our students just how much fun reading can be! ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

Thereโ€™ll be plenty happening across the school from Book Fair in the Art Centre, Celebrity Story Tellers and book-inspired fun to sharing favourite stories and celebrating the wonderful books that make us laugh, wonder, imagine and dream in our classrooms.

We are proud of the way our students embrace reading and the joy they find in books. There is something pretty special about seeing a child completely absorbed in a story, sharing a favourite character with a friend or discovering a book they just canโ€™t put down. โค๏ธ

Check out this week's calendar for all the Book Week happenings and letโ€™s make some beautiful โ€œmusicโ€ together through our stories! ๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ“š

Happy Childrenโ€™s Book Week, everyone! ๐ŸŒŸ
