💚 Thriving Schools Start With Us 💚

This week we’re celebrating and saying a huge THANK YOU to our incredible SASS staff who work tirelessly — often behind the scenes — to keep Brewongle running smoothly.

From booking and coordinating our visiting schools, to preparing delicious meals for camps and staff development days, and maintaining our beautiful (and very large!) Brewongle grounds, their contribution touches almost every part of what we do.

🌿 Thriving schools really do start with you — and we couldn’t do it without you! 💚

🌿💚 National Health & Physical Education Day 💚🌿

Today we celebrate the important role Health & Physical Education plays in supporting not only physical health, but mental health and wellbeing too.

At Brewongle, we know that getting outdoors, moving our bodies, connecting with others and spending time in nature can provide valuable opportunities for students to reset, build confidence, strengthen relationships and support their emotional wellbeing.

Through our new PDHPE programs, students are encouraged to step away from screens, get active, work together, have fun and discover simple ways to care for themselves, others and Country. 🌿

Because looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies. 💚

🌿 We loved welcoming these Year 3 environmental detectives to Brewongle! 🔎🌳

There’s nothing better than seeing students exploring, investigating and learning in the bush. Our Tawny Tragedy program is always a favourite — hands-on learning, plenty of discovery and lots of fun along the way!

Thanks for spending the day with us! 💚

🌿 This is something we are incredibly passionate about at Brewongle!

We see the benefits when students visit us — even for just one day. Getting outside the classroom and into the bush gives children the opportunity to explore, discover, ask questions, take safe risks and connect with the natural world around them.

Our teacher-delivered programs strive to get kids out exploring the bush, learning through real experiences and discovering just how powerful the outdoors can be as a classroom. 🌳💚

It is not every day that class takes place in the great outdoors, but one initiative is pushing the limits of what learning can look like.

The Greater Sydney Parklands's Bush School program takes young children in urban areas out with education rangers to help foster a love for the natural world.

It's Public Education Week, and we'd like to shine a spotlight on the incredible teaching staff at Brewongle and within the Environmental and Zoo Education Centres NSW network 💙🍃

Did you know that every Brewongle educator is a qualified NSW Department of Education teacher?

While people often think of outdoor educators as guides, rangers or activity leaders, our team brings something extra. Every program is delivered by experienced teachers who are not only passionate about the environment and the outdoors, but are also experts in engaging students and delivering curriculum-aligned learning outdoors.

When you book a program at Brewongle or any other EEC, you can be confident your students are learning from professionals who understand how to inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking and create meaningful educational experiences in the natural environment.

This Public Education Week, we'd like to say thank you to our dedicated educators for the passion, expertise and care they bring to every excursion, incursion and camp. We are incredibly proud of the difference they make in the lives of students every day. 💚🌿
