To kick off National Child Protection Week we discussed ‘Every child, in every community, needs a fair go’ and what it means for children growing up safe and supported.
This is extremely important as children and young people thrive when they grow up safe, connected and supported in their family, community and culture.
This morning the children talked about how we create a supportive environment for every child and what keeps us safe in our community. They responded with a wide variety of comments including home, grandparents, siblings, neighbours, policemen, fire fighters, ambulance (paramedics), school, daycare, teachers, park, parents and friends. We had a wonderful discussion on how all these keep us safe as we drew our ideas and painted them with watercolours. Finishing off by assembling our special artwork “How My Community Keeps Me Safe” ❤️.
