❤️💙 Rutherford’s cheer squad has gone feathered! 🐔🦜

Kids Cave Rutherford is cheering on the Newcastle Knights—with a little cartoon help from our chickens and Zeke! 🏉📣

Zeke came dressed in red and blue already, so all he needed was a tiny Knights cap! 😂 The chickens have added their bows and are hoping for an egg-cellent game! 🐔🎀

From our whole Kids Cave crew—GO KNIGHTS! ❤️💙

🌿 Experience the Kids Cave Difference
Kids Cave Rutherford — where nature takes centre stage in learning 🐾

With a large outdoor environment to explore and centre pets to care for, Kids Cave Rutherford offers children space to be curious, connect with nature, and discover something new each day.

Welcoming children from birth to six years, our service combines high-quality education with the warmth and experience of qualified, long-standing educators who build meaningful relationships with children and families.

🌳 Room to explore and grow
Our spacious outdoor environment encourages active play, imagination and hands-on discovery, making nature a valuable part of children’s everyday learning.

🐾 Learning alongside our animals
Our centre pets create opportunities for children to develop empathy, responsibility and respect for living things. Caring for animals encourages gentle interactions, thoughtful questions and an understanding of the world around them.

🌱 Learning inspired by curiosity
Through play and intentional teaching, our educators build on children’s interests to support their confidence, creativity and development.

🎓 Growing confidence for school and beyond
Our preschool program supports independence, friendships, communication, and early literacy and numeracy, helping children develop a strong foundation for their next chapter.

🤍 Experienced educators, familiar faces
Our long-standing team takes the time to understand each child, helping them feel secure, valued and ready to learn.

🕡 Open 6:30 am–6:00 pm, supporting families with care and education throughout the day.

Come and discover a place where little explorers can grow, learn, and belong. 💚

🔎🌟 CAN YOU FIND SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH…? 🌟🔎

This week’s fun family challenge from Kids Cave Rutherford is a letter hunt!

Pick one letter and see how many objects your child can find around the house that begin with the same sound. You could try “B” and search for a book, ball, banana, or bag.

Remember to say the words slowly and make the beginning sound clear. Keep it fun, offer clues when needed, and celebrate every discovery! 🔤💛

💧 Health and Safety: Water Safety Starts Before Summer ☀️

Water safety is important all year round—not only during the warmer months. Starting these conversations early helps children develop safe habits around pools, baths, beaches, dams, and other bodies of water.

At Kids Cave, we teach children to:

💦 Always stay close to a trusted adult
💦 Never enter water without permission
💦 Walk—not run—around wet areas
💦 Follow safety signs and instructions
💦 Tell an adult if they notice water nearby

Families can support this learning by regularly talking about water safety at home and ensuring children are always actively supervised around water.

Together, we can help children enjoy the water safely and confidently. 💙

🦘 Please Help Support Our Native Wildlife 🐦

Animals hold a very special place in our hearts here at Kids Cave Rutherford. We believe it is important to teach children kindness, compassion and respect for all living things, while helping them understand the important role animals play in our world.

Wildlife in Need of Care is a volunteer organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for injured, sick, orphaned and vulnerable Australian wildlife.

Donations help provide urgent veterinary treatment, medical supplies, specialised food and equipment, giving these precious animals the best possible chance to recover and return safely to the wild.

Every donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser can also help it reach someone who can. 💚

Together, we can show our children how kindness and compassion can make a real difference.

🧡 Child Protection Week at Kids Cave Early Education 🧡

Protecting children is the responsibility of every adult. Across all Kids Cave services, we are committed to playing our part by creating environments where every child feels safe, supported, respected, and heard.

Our commitment is to:

🖐️ Listen to and value children’s voices
🖐️ Provide safe and inclusive environments
🖐️ Respect each child’s family, culture, identity and individual needs
🖐️ Support children to build positive relationships with adults and their peers
🖐️ Speak up and take action whenever a child’s safety or wellbeing may be at risk
🖐️ Work alongside families with care, understanding and without judgement
🖐️ Advocate for children’s rights and best interests every day

Child protection is not limited to one week—it is at the heart of everything we do. The little things we do today matter to a child’s tomorrow. 🌿
