Week 8 at St Mary's

What a wonderful and incredibly busy week we have shared at St Mary's! With so much happening, it's hard to believe we haven't even reached the end of the term, or Term 4! Every week brings new opportunities to celebrate the rich experiences that make our school such a vibrant and connected community.

At St Mary's, we know that the moments our students share with their peers, families and the wider community are truly transformative. These experiences create lasting memories, foster a deep sense of belonging and help shape positive attitudes towards learning and life. It is through these meaningful connections and celebrations that our students continue to flourish.

This week, we proudly commissioned our new Fire Carriers (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) during a beautiful liturgy held beneath our stunning mural and within our Yarning Circle. It was a meaningful celebration of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, listening, learning and walking together with respect and understanding.

We also had the privilege of celebrating the fathers and special male role models in the lives of our students. Sharing Mass and lunch together was a wonderful reminder of the important role these people play in nurturing, encouraging and guiding our younger generations. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable.

None of these special moments would be possible without the dedication and generosity of our incredible staff, our amazing Parents & Friends team, and the many family members who continually support our school. Your commitment to creating opportunities for our children to connect, celebrate and grow is deeply appreciated.

As we look ahead to the final weeks of term, we are reminded how fortunate we are to belong to such a caring, welcoming and vibrant community. Thank you for continuing to make St Mary's a place where every child is known, valued and given every opportunity to thrive.

Happy Education Support Week!

This week, we proudly celebrate our incredible Education Support staff, the heart of our school and the quiet champions behind so many of our students' successes. Hailey, Laura, Georgia, Peta, Nick, Nicholas, Jemae and Brittney.

Thank you for your energy, dedication, precision, compassion, care, creativity, innovative ideas and unwavering commitment to every child. You bring intention to every interaction, encouragement to every challenge, and kindness to every day. The difference you make is immeasurable.

You are the backbone of St Mary's, the steady pulse behind every check-in, every achievement and every moment of growth. Your work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen and felt in every classroom and across our entire school community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. St Mary's simply would not be the place it is today without each and every one of you.

Happy Education Support Week! We celebrate you this week, and we are grateful for you every single day.

Students will enjoy First Nations stories and a special Indigenous Literacy Day film as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors, storytellers, languages and cultures.

It’s also a wonderful opportunity to visit our new St Mary’s Street Library and continue sharing the joy of reading beyond the classroom.

We look forward to celebrating and listening to First Nations voices and stories together.

🌟 Wellbeing Word of the Week: KINDNESS 🌟

In Wellbeing Art, we’ll explore two important wellbeing words or issues each fortnight. This week, our focus is kindness—being friendly, caring and helpful to others.

Even the smallest act of kindness can make someone’s day brighter. 💙

Why not ask your child what kindness means to them and how they could show it this week?
