Karol Griffiths is an amazing script editor and development consultant who has worked with the Cohen Brothers, among many others. She's also a stunning writer, but she'd hit a point when - as she says in the video - she was working with other writers and not serving her own creativity. As a result, she was feeling really frustrated and desperate to return to her own writing.

The Immersion: Flow program got her back to her own spectacular writing, and topped her up so that she can serve her own creativity as well. Immersion does this for established writers and for those who are completely new to the pen.

The final Immersion: Flow program begins next month - if you are ready to top up your own creativity, join us!

Apply now and find out more at www.writermentors.com/immersion

Well we just love it when two of our best come together!

In this months issue of The Monthly, AWMP mentor and novelist Toni Jordan writes about Pip Williams’ new novel, The Bookbinder of Jericho as an enchanting new release for this year.

Following the wild success of her debut novel, The Dictionary of Lost Words, which has been adapted into a national stage play and soon-to-be TV series, Pip receives a thoughtful, nuanced review which we thoroughly enjoyed reading.

Pip was mentored by Toni throughout the manuscript process of The Dictionary of Lost Words and we just love to see their connection continue.

It’s thrilling to see both writers celebrate the success of their new novels this year, and we can’t wait to see more!

Thank you to everyone who has joined our Conversations on Creation series!

We are incredibly excited to share that this month as we are joined by film distributor, novelist, and producer, Andrew Mackie.

Andrew’s company, Transmission Films is known for releasing such indie hits as The King’s Speech and Lion. As a producer, his credits include Ride Like A Girl, Tracks, Candy, Sweet Country, and On Chesil Beach.

Outside of film, he has always been fascinated by all things royal and has long felt that the Queen’s tour of Australian in 1954 was ripe with dramatic potential. The Tour (published in the U.S as Journey After The Crown) takes that tour as a starting point for a dramatic story of family loyalties and competition.

Join this Conversation with Kathryn Heyman as we hear his process in creating a new form of storytelling and his insights and obstacles he encountered along the way.

Wondering how to overcome obstacles in writing that first or second book?

When writers create their early books they are often more conscious of the lessons involved. Join us for a free event looking at how to get past those roadblocks.

Conversations on Creation are free online events with a focus on learning how to overcome obstacles in writing those early books.
Our free online series features incredible authors interviewed by Kathryn Heyman, revealing their strategies, tools, and techniques in leading a creative path to publishing a book.

On January 31st, Kathryn Heyman will be in conversation with Michelle Johnston, author of Tiny Uncertain Miracles. They'll talk about what Michelle had to learn in order to create this luminous novel, what obstacles (internal and external) she had to overcome - and how she did it.

Free, but bookings essential.
