First day at a new school as a CRT? 🍎

Even experienced teachers can have that moment when they arrive:

"Okay... where do I go now?" 😄

New school. New routines. New classroom. New students.

And sometimes you have less than 30 minutes to work it all out.

A few simple things can make a big difference:

🟠 Arrive a little early
🟠 Start at the office
🟠 Get your timetable and the essentials
🟠 Find your classroom
🟠 Introduce yourself to nearby teachers
🟠 Understand the school's expectations
🟠 Ask questions when you're unsure
🟠 Take a moment before the bell

Most importantly, you don't have to walk into a new school knowing everything.

Be professional. Ask questions. Follow the school's processes. Be willing to adapt.

It’s often not one big thing.

It’s the small things that schools notice.

Great CRTs:

✅ Arrive prepared and ready for the day
✅ Follow the teacher’s plan but know how to adapt
✅ Build rapport while maintaining expectations
✅ Ask questions rather than guess
✅ Leave useful feedback for the returning teacher
✅ Become part of the school for the day
✅ Leave the school wanting to have them back
