It aims to highlight sound educational policy and promote effective practice in the teaching of literacy. People who write get to live life twice - in the moment and in retrospect. I rarely go anywhere, or do anything without the shadow of my writing self being part of the adventure. Every experience provides opportunities to harvest writing ideas. It is a lens through which to view the limitless possibilities of the moment. I look forward to your responses, feedback and ideas.

Show kids how to write up close and personal to their topics of choice. Quite often their initial word choice is general, detached, or safe. Encourage honesty, accuracy, precision. Share exemplars. Discourage the use of 'very' as a descriptor.
