On Tuesday 2 June, our RIA Dance students had the incredible opportunity to attend En Pointe at Hamer Hall, presented by the Australian Ballet School.
Students were treated to a stunning showcase of dance, featuring classical ballet, contemporary works, and vibrant Hungarian character dances performed by the talented young artists of the Australian Ballet School.
The performance was both inspiring and educational, providing students with valuable insight into a range of dance styles, performance techniques, and artistic expression. Experiencing professional-level performance firsthand helped deepen their understanding of dance as an art form and broadened their awareness of the diverse possibilities within dance performance.
A wonderful day of learning, inspiration, and appreciation of dance!

The Intermediate Visual Arts Specialism students have been busy bringing their creative ideas to life as they put the finishing touches on their stunning oil paintings for this year's Showcase. Drawing inspiration from the expressive floral works of Georgia O'Keeffe and the vibrant contemporary paintings of Tim McGuire, students have explored colour, composition and painting techniques to create highly personal and imaginative artworks.
With Showcase preparations nearly complete, students have now begun an exciting new project inspired by this year's NAIDOC Week theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy". Through research and artistic investigation, students will create artworks celebrating influential Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians whose achievements, leadership and contributions have shaped our nation. We look forward to seeing how students respond to these inspiring stories through their own creative voices.

Lights. Camera. Suspense.
Our Senior Media students have been hard at work creating a chilling short-form horror/thriller film inspired by the iconic style of Alfred Hitchcock. Titled 'Quiet Obsession', the film follows a jilted boyfriend hiding within the walls of a house… based on a true story.
Collaborating with Senior Drama students as lead actors, the production explores an intense and unsettling narrative designed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. From a full day of on-location filming to fortnightly “black out” soundstage shoots in the PAC, students have embraced a “less but better” filmmaking approach, carefully crafting every shot with precision, purpose and atmosphere.
We can’t wait to see the final cut at our Semester 1 Showcase!

Our Intermediate Media students have been on an incredible creative journey, exploring photography, exhibition design, printing, and installation after a recent excursion to the Shrine of Remembrance.
Working collaboratively, they have been designing a powerful exhibition featuring a memorial wall, sculptural poppy installations and a storytelling display board. Each piece shares personal reflections and interpretations of ANZAC stories.
These works will be proudly showcased at the ANZAC Day exhibition at Stud Park, giving students the opportunity to bring their ideas to life in a real public space.
It has been inspiring to see their creativity, teamwork, and respect for this important part of our history come together through meaningful media production.
We can’t wait to share the finished display with our community soon

Our Senior Visual Arts Specialism students have been exploring the beautiful, meditative artform of Zentangles
Starting with simple, quick patterns, students gradually built their skills to create intricate and complex designs, and the results have been incredible! Beyond the artwork itself, many students discovered just how therapeutic the process can be. Taking the time to slow down, focus, and create brought a real sense of calm and relaxation.
We’re so proud of their creativity, patience, and the stunning pieces they’ve produced
