πŸ’πŸ’This week is School Administative and Supprt Staff (SASS) Recognition Week and boy do we love our SASS staff at Rowy Public!! Susie, Mia, Sian, Bec and the Queen Bee (Amba) are literally the most caring, kind, hard working and inspiring people this school could wish for. Their genuine dedication to seeing our students learn, grow and feel welcomed at our schools is life changing for many of our students. No matter what the task, problem, tantrum, emergency incident or issue (from students and teachers), these wonderful humans are always there for all of us. We would be lost without you all. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Susie, you are literally the most kind person we have ever met. The kids just adore you!!!! ❀️

Bec, you have inspired all of our students to believe in themselves, especially as fantastic athletes and runners. πŸƒπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Mia, your care for our B4 Kindy students has been wonderful to see and their growth this year is amazing. πŸ’

Sian, our grounds are looking so lovely!!!!! Gee you are good at putting flat pack together too!!!!!!! πŸ˜‚

Last but not least, the Queen Bee πŸ‘‘πŸ: Amba, we all know who runs this school. You’re the backbone of RPS and you constantly go well above and beyond anyone’s expectations! You are never allowed to leave….. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thank you for being that one person who, in the crazy pace that our world moves at now, can make a student (and adult) made to feel so important!! Lifesavers!!!!!

Lots of love from your Rowena Public School family πŸŒΈπŸŒΉπŸŒ·πŸŽ‚β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

What’s that? It’s the sound of a cricket ball being carved through cover, it’s our footy team putting in brutal end of season sprint efforts, it’s bush dancing practise outside, it’s a tennis ball being smashed down the line to win a set, it’s a whip cracking session after school by Nic! That’s right everyone, spring is here and the Rowy kids are back in full swing!!! πŸŒΉπŸŒΈπŸŒ·πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒ± so lovely to see everyone active and loving life at RPS!

🌱 A Cotton Gin Adventure! 🌱

Today our B4 Kindy to Year 2 students headed to Merrywinebone Cotton Gin for an amazing morning of learning and exploring! 🌾

We were warmly welcomed by Zoe, who showed us around the cotton modules and weighbridge before kitting us all out in our safety PPE and taking us through to the Gin.

Let’s just say… we thought we looked pretty funny in our HUGE safety vests, helmets, goggles and facemasks! πŸ˜‚ We certainly don’t know how the hardworking staff at the Gins manage to wear all that gear for 12-hour shifts!

We then headed into the console room, where we were in the expert hands of ginners Blake and Bwana from Merah North. The guys were an absolute wealth of knowledge and did a fantastic job explaining the ginning process and teaching us all about what happens to our cotton after it has been picked. 🌱➑️🏭➑️✨

Our students asked lots of questions, explored, listened and learnt so much about an industry that is such an important part of our local community.

A HUGE thank you to LDC for welcoming us, keeping us safe and providing such an interesting, hands-on and educational morning! We are very grateful for the opportunity.

Who knows… there may just be some future ginners amongst us! πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸŒ±

🌟 Congratulations, Rowena Public School! 🌟

What a wonderful display of creativity and talent from our students at the Wee Waa Show! πŸŽ¨πŸ“š

We were so proud to see so many fantastic writing pieces and artworks entered by our students β€” and even prouder to see so many ribbons coming home to Rowena! πŸ…πŸ‘

It was wonderful seeing their hard work, imagination and creativity proudly displayed throughout the pavilion. A huge congratulations to every student who entered β€” you should all be incredibly proud of your achievements! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Rowena, Burren and our mates at Bourke Walgett SODE 2026 - the start of a dynasty!!! Today we all competed in the Ricky Walford Shield in Walgett. We sent two teams of boys and a girls netball team who are simply best mates through and through and they played like brothers and sisters! The competition was tough and their sportsmanship, teamwork and doggedness exemplifies what these small school kids are all about! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ
Having only a tiny pool of players to choose from and competing against far larger schools, our Stage 2 team came away as undefeated champions while our Stage 3 team just lost by one try in the dying seconds of the grand final. Our netballers also battled deep into finals contention. πŸ†πŸ…πŸ†πŸ†πŸ…
This success doesn’t come by chance though, these kids train and train and train. Hard work pays off eventually!!!!!!!
As they all drive off to their respective schools, I would like to say how proud we all are as parents and teachers of these legends!! What a day.

Here’s to you, our β€˜Burrowd’ champions!!!!!

Ps: can’t believe I met George Rose!!!!!! Fangirl moment sorry George….
